With EPLAN Pro Panel it is possible to layout mounting panels and enclosures in 3D
and to derive the corresponding documentation and production drawings accurately,
simply and rapidly. The optional module supports cross-discipline designing of electrical
engineering and fluid power – in an integrated project database.

Design assurance

EPLAN Pro Panel is designed to operate within manufacturer specifications and facilitates an
exact position check of devices, wire ducts and mounting rails. The functions for placing and
editing components are supplemented by the dynamic collision check and the online
connection display. Users can utilize the available space more efficiently and for
example combine power units and valve terminals, equip mounting panels or dimension
enclosures optimally.

Positioning perfection

In the course of mounting layout all the devices used in the schematic or in the parts
pre-selection are displayed in a list or tree structure. When the components are placed, the
system checks whether the placement is at the correct location or on the correct mounting
panel. At the same time the user recognizes which items from the schematic have yet to be
placed on the mounting panel. Since each item has defined handles, targets or mounting
areas, they can be adjusted surprisingly easily with EPLAN e-Touch technology. More
practical advantages: Changes in the 3D mounting layout also affect the corresponding
production drawings and legends consistently.

Perfect reporting

The overview of all the designed and placed devices or hardware allows the components
to be checked simply on the basis of the parts data. Reports in the form of bills of
materials contain precise length information about variable items, such as wiring ducts
or mounting rails – an ideal basis in order to generate detailed cutting lists for the
production.

Full integration

As a module of the EPLAN engineering platform, EPLAN Pro Panel adapts and supports
the many basic technologies such as macro creation, option techniques, revision
management or the PDM interface. Online access to all the designed devices, the EPLAN
parts management, and the EPLAN Data Portal is possible at any time. Attrition losses and
increased costs through data conversion between the differing design systems and
repetitive data entry, are therefore excluded from the very beginning. Providing leeway for
innovation.

Optimal support

EPLAN Pro Panel does away with the separation between schematic designing and mounting
layout. In a consistent project the schematic and 3D layout can be planned either
sequentially or parallel - as desired. The start of the designing process can be selected
freely – with the schematic or directly on the mounting panel in 3D. The new method of
designing flows over into other areas as well. The realistic representation of the 3D
mounting layout facilitates communication with other specialist departments as well as
the communication with suppliers and customers. All phases of the product development
are supported optimally.
