I am a trainee broadcast journalist with a passion for telling a story. I enjoy working
across various platforms in high pressure environments, getting to the bottom of a
story and presenting it in the most interesting and engaging way possible.

ITV Wales March 2011
I worked with the Sports Corespondent and news reporter gathering and cutting
pictures for two packages for the 6 o'clock news. I also provided self-shot video
content for online, and successfully pitched a story about two autistic children from
Port Tablot whose transport arrangements were being changed by the council.

BBC Radio Stoke Sept


‘09 – Sept ‘10
I have spent time on various placements at BBC Stoke, producing link and clips for
bulletins, and gathering audio for Breakfast and Drive. I also produced a location As-
live for the Saturday breakfast show on war veterans in Stoke-on-Trent.

Real Radio Dec ’10


I covered the heavy snowfall and the subsequent travel problems in South Wales. I
gathered audio and produced link and clips for hourly bulletins, and cut clips for a live-
two way.

Financial Times September ‘08


I worked on the Companies and Market pullout, shadowing reporters, researching
stories and conducting phone interviews. I had a by-line on the increased stock prices
of a global tool manufacturer.

Feb ‘06
I worked on various stories for the newspaper and online in Lichfield and the
surrounding regions. Stories I covered include: an elderly lady being burgled, the
opening of the Lichfield Festival and various crime stories.

Managed a team of around 12 and had ultimate responsibility for a a 9-page news

Co-founded a football magazine in sixth form, covering the five West Midlands football
league teams

Employment
• Alumni Caller, University of York: part of a team tasked with contacting
alumni of the University attempting to secure donations for various university
departments, projects and charities.
• Qualified Referee: refereed youth football matches from the age of 14,
included various ages ranging from 7-18 and various levels of football up to
semi-professional.
• McDonalds: worked for two years during sixth form on the counter serving
customers.

• Football coaching: weekend coaching boys and girls teams of various age-
ranges from 7-18.
• Teaching assistant: helped AS and A Level Politics and History students in
my local school.

difficulties in their reading and writing
