Computer Science Department Graduate Student Scholarships

The Computer Science Department now offers a limited number of $1,000 competitive,
merit-based scholarships to incoming graduate students.

All students entering MS or PhD studies in computer science or software engineering

are eligible to apply. Criteria to be considered in awarding these scholarships are:

1) GPA
2) GRE scores
3) Letters of recommendation
4) Honors and awards received
5) Published research

The application deadline for fall 2011 scholarships is March 15, 2011. Fall 2011
scholarships are scheduled to be awarded by March 30, 2011.

I took special interests in the above mentioned subjects during my under graduation as I found
them to be the foundations of computer science stream. In my college, I got the opportunity to
attend many Industrial training, technical seminars/workshops. I keep myself abreast for the
latest trends by catching up with various associations such as IEEE and ISTE (Indian Society for
Technical Education).I have currently enrolled me in the IEEE Computer Society- CSDA course,
which is very useful for software engineers. It would serve to bridge the gap between my
educational experience and real-world work requirements.
