1 Introduction
1.1 Purpose
This document shows how to create a portlet page that has access to multiple reports.

1.2 Applicability
This document is applicable to IBM Cognos 8.4 BI

2 Creating a Multi-Page View


The following will take you through the steps of creating a multi-page view.

1. In IBM Cognos Connection, create a folder. In this example the folder will be called Portal
Pages.
2. Copy any type of reports needed to create this view, in the folder above.

2.1 Creating the Multi-page portlet page.


In a separate location, other than the folder that all the pages have been placed, create a new page.

1. In IBM Cognos Connection, Click on the New Page ( ) icon located near the top right of
the window.
In the Name field, type in a name for the page. In this example the page will be
called Multi-Page. In the location area select the location to save this page. The
default location will be a user's My Folders.

Click Next.

2. Within the Set Columns and Layout screen, click on the Add… button.

3. Click on Dashboard.

4. Place a check by Multi-page. Click on the Green Arrow and Multi-page will show on the
Selected entries side.

Click OK.

5. Multi-Page will now show in the Content Area.

6. Click Next.

7. On the Set page style page, you can set a number of properties to the Multi-page portlet.

Click next.

8. Check Add this Page to the portal tabs. Then Click Finish.

At the end of these steps there now will be a tab at the top with the new page that
was created.

2.2 Adding Pages to the Multi-page portlet


1. Click on the newly created page tab in IBM Cognos Connection. In this example Multi-Page.
2. Within the Multi-page portlet click on the edit button ( ).

3. Click on the Select an entry... link.


4. Select the folder that was created in which all the reports have been moved to.

In the example, the folder Report Studio Report Samples will be used.
Click OK.
6. Click OK.
Here is an example of what the page should look like.

So now in this one page view, all the reports are now a separate tab at the top of the
page. All the user has to do is to click on a the corresponding report tab to see the
report.
