2ND SUNDAY OF LENT

MARCH 20TH 2011
PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently
especially Cecil Lewis and Edmund Hisko.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s healing
love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home especially Elva Curry and Joe
Shubaly. May your struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.

† THE WAY OF THE CROSS: A word of gratitude to the C.W.L. who have taken leadership in
facilitating our Lenten exercise of communal prayer called The Way of the Cross. On Mondays
during Lent at 12:10 p.m. we gather for this time of prayer. Please feel welcome to join
others in this reflective time which makes the Passion of Jesus speak to our life today.

2011 DIOCESAN LENTEN MISSIONARY AND DEVELOPMENT COLLECTION

What is the Catholic Near East Welfare Association?
One of the efforts that will benefit from our 2011 Diocesan Lenten Missionary and Development
Collection is the Catholic Near East Association. For over 75 years, this papal agency for
humanitarian and pastoral work has been a lifeline for those in need throughout the Middle
East, Northeast Africa, India and Eastern Europe. CNEWA supports the pastoral mission
of the Eastern Catholic Churches, provides humanitarian assistance to those in need
without regard to nationality or creed, promotes Christian unity and inter-religious
understanding, and seeks to educate people in the West about the history, culture, and
churches of the East. The work of CNEWA is based upon time, place and urgency need.
The work carried out involves a variety of needs, including clean water programs,
employment training, care of orphans, providing health care, educational scholarships
and the support of training of priests.

Tickets are available today at the entrances to the Church. If you can help the parish again this year
by taking tickets for yourself, or to sell to family and friends, it will go a long way toward reaching our
goal of a sellout of all 2500 books. This major fundraiser contributes to the on-going maintenance and
upgrading of our parish. Thank you for your support in previous years!
