Step 1 – DAILY READING
In the pages following the “journal sample entry”, you’ll find the
daily reading plan. Find the reading corresponding to today’s date
and mark off each box to keep yourself accountable. Remember
that following a reading program is important for accountability,
discipline and for systematic instruction in God’s Word. As you
read the passage in your Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to give you
inspiration, direction and correction (2 Tim 3:16).
What things can you praise God for? What things do you need to
trust God for? Where have you experienced answers to prayer?
Let these questions help you as you begin your time in prayer.
Conclude your prayer time by recording your prayer requests and
answers in your journal pages.
What is the Lord speaking to you through the Word today? When
God reveals a special scripture, a personal lesson, a word of chal-
lenge, instruction or encouragement to you, turn to a new page in
your journal pages and record what God has just shown you.
• Record how you will ”live out” what you’ve just re-
ceived.
DYNAMIC DEVOTION
Proverbs 4: 20-27
“My son, pay attention to what I say, listen closely to my words. Do not let them
out of your sight, keep them in your heart. For they are life to those who find
them and health to a man’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart for it is a
well-spring of life. Put away perversity form your mouth, keep corrupt talk from
your lips, let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make
level the paths of your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to
the right or to the left, keep your foot from evil.”
verse lesson:
Lord, You are asking me to focus, to fix my eyes on You, to eliminate things
that hinder my walk with You and keep me from being sharp. I don’t want to
go anywhere or do anything unless I’m in Your will - help me keep my feet firmly
rooted in the things of You. You’re calling me to memorize Your Word, to know
it and keep it in my heart. I want to keep my eyes on You Lord - fully focused and
in passionate pursuit of You! Specifically, help me to guard my mouth and to have
a fresh awareness of the things that I speak. I don’t want anything that doesn’t
glorify You to come out of my mouth. Teach me how to guard my tongue so that
it’s never used to tear down others or speak words that are harmful or wrong.
Help me to have my speech seasoned with salt that others would be drawn to You.
Continue to teach me Your ways Lord! Holy Spirit open my eyes and lead me as I
study your Word - reveal yourself to me, I want all You have for me! Everything
I need is right here in Your Word - Help me to seek Your will for my life today in
every area. Lead on Lord!
