Prologue

T
o be honest here, since childhood I had never truly known a life of happiness. So
when you get even a little bit of something that you don’t have but desire very
much, you tend to become very happy no matter how little of that something you
get. There came a time when I got so much happiness in my life that I smiled and laughed
all day long for no rhyme or reason. I was happy and life couldn’t be any more perfect
than it was right now. Until one day one moment came that took it all away.

Someone died on 5th June 2007 unexpectedly. From that day onwards whatever I did
had no meaning for me. Life had no meaning for me. I had lost in this unfair game. There
was nothing left for me to do anymore. I didn’t have anything or anybody to turn to. I
remember being alone at nights crying myself to sleep. I remember waking up in the
mornings and waiting for the tears to stop so that I could come out of my room and face
another day. I remember myself smiling for people even though my heart cried out in pain.
I also remember giving faith and hope to others even though I had none for myself.
Someone died on 5th June 2007. Someone was Me.

It is often said that human emotions have little or no place in this cruel world. I knew
that, so sorrows never really bothered me too much because I knew that they were just
delays. I truly knew in my heart that there will be better days than today. In any kind of
trouble, I was the first one to smile and console others and show them the positive side of
things. But that day, all I could manage to do was cry.

On 11th August 2007, I was at a book store and I never roam around the spiritual
section. But that day to my own surprise, I found myself there because I felt some higher
calling or whatever you would like to call it and picked up a book called the Law of
Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I skimmed through it and I liked it but buying it at
that time would mean spending whatever little money I had in my wallet. I returned it to
the shelf from where I had found it and came out of the bookstore and began walking. At
that point, I heard a very clear voice inside of me saying “buy the book Ankush.” I was
completely freaked out! This had never happened with me before. I almost ran back to the
bookstore and felt elated to see the book I had left barely 15 seconds back still lying there.
I picked it up and emptied out my wallet.

On my birthday that is the 6th of October, I finally opened that book. When I read it, I
was completely blown away and with every page I read, I cried. Only this time I was
crying tears out of pure joy rather than crying tears of sorrow. I asked myself why others
don’t know about all this. On that day I decided that no matter what happens, I will not
stop. I promised to myself that I will never stop and will keep on going till I make all my
dreams come true. “When you are going through Hell, keep going.” These are the words of

www.ankushmodawal.com
Ankush Modawal Black Book One

Winston Churchill and these are exactly the words I used to repeat to myself everyday
from that day onwards.

Gradually small joys began to blossom in my life. They weren’t enough to make my
heart smile but they were like sparks. And I knew that it is only with sparks that great
fires are made. A very tiny stream of joy began to permeate through my heart and I also
knew that the greatest rivers were once like this little stream. It was one of those streams
which dared to find its own way to the oceans. Even though I had still not forgotten the
nightmares of the past, I now chose not to remember them.

Sometime back, I was doing some work on my computer and saw old pictures of
myself when I was going through what we call “Hell.” I began to cry when I saw how I
looked and what I had become. Memories of time at which those photos were taken came
rushing back and brought tears with them that began to drip down from my cheeks onto
the keyboard. How I had managed myself in my times of intense emotional depressions
and physical ill-health. Thinking about all this, I walked towards the mirror in my room
and saw myself. So much had changed since then. So much had been damaged. So much
had been destroyed to create. It was the same feeling that every soldier feels to come back
home to those who care for him with scars of battles of war. I looked back at myself and
how I was and reflected on how much I had changed. I was a completely different person
now. I remember one final tear falling that sealed that moment forever. In that moment, I
knew what I wanted to do with and in my life.

As soon as that realization came, my heart laughed after a very long time. It was the
moment that holy books and drama movies talk about. It was something that I didn’t
believe in until it showed itself. It was as clear like my reflection in the mirror in front of
me and I absolutely knew what I had to do. It was that day that I promised myself to help
as many people I could to achieve whatever they desired.

From that day onwards, I wanted to share what I knew with the world. I promised
myself to remind those that which they have forgotten. They have forgotten that they are
special. They have forgotten who they are and the power that lies within them. They have
forgotten to live because they are too busy living. They have forgotten to appreciate the
little things in life. They have also forgotten a little detail, the smallest detail that makes
all other details important and less important at the same time. It’s a little thing that we
call Love. They have forgotten how to love others and more importantly, how to love
themselves.

In my opinion, you can never truly teach something to anybody. Like love cannot be
taught, it can only be felt from within. Mostly and sadly to say the truth, it is almost the
strongest when that which you love is gone. This book is a reminder to those who have
forgotten their true self and who they really are or were. This book was once a dream
which has now manifested itself. It was once like your dream that you hold so near and
dear to your heart right now. It doesn’t matter if it’s a dream of a relationship, health or
money. Every dream of yours deserves to become a reality and it will. Like my dream of
writing a book to help countless others has. That is the intention with which I’ve written
this book. That is the intention that wrote this book.

Acknowledgement

I
Always like to do the formality of thanking everyone and everything in sight with
much needed informality. The first person I would like to thank is my mother, whose
silent support and unconditional love have always been two pillars to support my
dreams in life. I’m grateful to my grandmother who lives in Mumbai, for all the blessings
she sings to me over the phone. To my father Dr. Y.K Modawal, for the unrestricted
independence I’ve always enjoyed since childhood. I’m thankful to my eldest sister Ruchi,
for not being here but always being there for me. To my brother in law Amit, for being the
genius and the light hearted person that he is. Thanks to my elder sister Iti, for being the
way she is, fabulously wonderful and marvelously crazy! Thanks to my brother in law
Divyang, for being my first employer and for not being just a human being, but rather
being a marvelous gem of a person. His presence is enough to raise even the spirits of the
dead! My boxer, Diana who is in Heaven now and by the mention of her name has
probably started wagging her tail and barking lovingly as you read this.

Thanks to Dr. Subhash and Shaila aunty. Thanks to my brother Ankur, sister in law
Setu and Dr. Siddharth. I’m also grateful to my cousin sister Abhiti who is a dentist. It’s
only in her profession that you can legally break someone’s teeth and have the audacity to
ask money from them for it!

A special thanks to Farida aunty and Arif uncle for trusting me and having faith in
my dream, this book. Since I was a child, whenever I used to visit their house it felt like
I’m home. Thanks to Sarita aunty and Suresh uncle, for the night stays they’ve been
arranging for us since the time we were four feet short and the superb trips to different
rejuvenating retreats. Sarita aunty has always been another mother to me and she prepares
the most delicious dishes that always make me wonder if it’s her love for me or my love
for food that makes the food she makes that way. Thanks to Sahgal aunty and uncle for
being the best neighbors in the whole wide world. They make the loveliest couple I’ve ever
seen in my life and are an example to those who believe in forever love. A special thanks
to Ajay and Vijay for being brothers who for me are the best uncles in this world. A
special thanks to their beautiful and wonderful wives Rashmi and Sunanda. Also to my
sisters Esha and Ishita who grew up with me. Last but definitely not the least, the kids;
Aastha and Ishaan.

Thanks to Vinnie, for whom I’ve kept so many nicknames out of pure fondness like
Bumchum, The White One and Bushy! The reasons are censored though. Atul, who I
lovingly call 21x7 because there was a time when we roamed around together for twenty
one hours daily and those who saw us suspected that there was something horribly wrong
going on between us! He taught me the secrets of the green stuff. I’m grateful to Parag,
whose nickname is not appropriate to be mentioned here, for bargaining for me with every

shopkeeper and for teaching me how to board the killer DTCs! Also for being the way he
is. My thanks to Faraz, who we all call The Black One for being the honest and down to
earth person that he still is, like he was when I met him fourteen years ago.

A BIG FAT thanks to Harshpreet, I call him 8 Ball for his constant bubbly words that
no matter how irritating they sometimes become, never fail to put a smile on my face and
a hearty laugh in my heart. Abhimanyu, even his nickname is not appropriate to be
mentioned here but nonetheless I want to thank him for the unwise things he does and the
crazy ways he finds to do them in, which makes him a continuous show stopper and an
entertainer!

Thanks to Jaibeer, for being six feet four inches tall. How he fits such a BIG heart in
that little frame of his is still beyond my comprehension. A special thanks to Kamal, for
discovering the mentor in me and for nicknaming me “Baba.” Also for being the perfect
friend that he alwaysis as well as for the foreign language he teaches me free of cost!
Vijay, for his unique sense of style, whacky humor and for the almost life taking bike
rides! Thanks to Ankur for his special dance. Thanks to Vibhor for being the snake
charmer. Thanks to Rishabh, for recording my rap sessions when we are in the club and
for his photographic skills that really do capture the moment! Also for being the younger
brother in my life even though I’m just a friend.

A special thanks to the little bundles of joy which were delivered to me by my sisters.
These little ones fill my heart and life with laughter everyday with their antics. Thanks to
Angela(3), my niece who more than lives up to her name everyday. Thanks to Advay(1),
for the smile that he gives every time he sees me. Thanks to baby Aarit(7months), who is
still in the process of remembering. Thanks and blessings to the little baby girl born on 5th
November 2007 to Atuls elder brother. She has not been named yet but for me she is the
gift of god and the attachment I have with her cannot be expressed with those that we call
words. The emotion that I feel for her will go unnamed forever.

Thanks to someone who calls me Bear Horse (Tren D), for her unconditional love and
friendship. The little things she has done for me and the way she has done them in is very
GRAND. Thanks to someone who called me Tiger (:P..), she had oceans for eyes, in which
I died. Thanks to someone who calls me Lion (Rose), for her strength, comfort, meaning
and fragrance. Right now, even I’m confused regarding which animal I actually am but one
thing I’m sure of is that I’m really wild! Thanks to that special girl who I will make my
wife. I don’t know who you are but I’ve always had a dream to mention you in my long list
of gratitude before even meeting you. When I do though, I will show you this and tell you
that you love a very special person who will love you back for who you are and the way
you are until I close my eyes forever to welcome my sweet release.

A special thanks to Esther and Jerry Hicks for their teachings of Abraham. They are
the major reason for what I am today. My teachers at all my educational institutions whose
teachings I live daily. A special thanks to Udai Lauria uncle, of Mukul Prakashan for being
the second father of this book. The time we discussed the time according to the Roman
calendar was very memorable but I’m not sure what time according to the Roman calendar
that was! Rajat, my amazingly patient and reliable Editor of this as well as my
forthcoming books. Special thanks to Ankit Jain, the first three letters of his name

surprisingly match mine! Thanks to that beautiful something that we call life for being the
most devoted teacher that teaches us something new every second.

Last but definitely not the least, I would like to extend my gratitude and blessings to,
Aariz, Ashok, Ashutosh, Jayant, Junior, Lokesh, Naiya, Parikshit, Pasho, Purnima,
Priyanka, Sabhayata, Sana, Sumit bhaiya, and Vickram.

To all street dogs and animals who are such lovely souls for whom I’m very passionate
about. One day I will open an organization to raise their standard of living! A special
thanks to the birds that I feed every morning for chirping songs to and for me. Thanks to
each and every person I’ve known because you are very special like we all are. Thanks to
the readers of this book. I hope what I’ve tried to convey here reflects in my words. To cut
a long story short, I would like to thank everyone! Any names that I’ve forgotten to
mention here is not because I’ve forgotten you, but it’s because I’ve just forgotten! Also, I
would now like to thank myself blatantly for the special person I am. You really are
something aren’t you!

The End
“The truth may hurt for a little while but a lie hurts forever.”

C
ongratulations! You desired a change in your life and look how you manifested it! A
book! You’ve attracted to yourself a book that will teach you how to make all your
dreams a reality. The book that will be the end of all your sorrows! You’ve been
living a lie for so long that you’ve forgotten who you are. You’ve forgotten how to live
your life. You must remember who you are to re-member with yourself. You are a creator,
the creator of your own life. You are a writer, scripting your story everyday. The paintings
you paint in yourself become You! Growth comes naturally to you, not growing does not.

How many times has it happened that our deepest sorrows have introduced us to our
greatest powers? Why do we stumble upon the greatest secrets of life when we least expect
them? We exist in a world of two absolutes. It is a world of two great ends and that which
exists in between them. We exist in a world of “good” and “bad” and which is neither
“good” nor “bad.” We exist in a world of infallible natural laws of the universe. We exist in
a world of god. Who is god? If he exists, why doesn’t he show himself? Why doesn’t she
speak with us? I’m sure you have pondered as I have and reflected on many questions like
these.

The truth is, he is all around us and she speaks with us all the time. Let this book be a
guide to you. There are no coincidences in life. There are no accidents. All this might be
shocking to you right now, but it is the truth. Truth hurts. The word “truth” has the word
“hurt” hidden in it. This book was once a tiny thought which went on to become a dream
and now it has become a reality. It has followed the same path that everything you see
around you right now has followed. It has followed the path of zero resistance. It has
followed the natural laws of the universe. A rock if dropped from the sky is sure to hit the
ground. It doesn’t matter how big the rock is. It will reach its destination. It will reach the
ground.

The way you look at the world and yourself is going to change forever. If you feel that
all this is wrong. Close the book right now. Keep it somewhere and forget about it because
little knowledge is dangerous. This book will find its way to whoever desires a change and
has an intention for it. But if you feel even a little strand of excitement and a part of you
feels thrilled, if you have faith and are ready to make all your dreams come true, turn the
page.

E
xcellent choice! Before we venture further, let me tell you the rules for reading this
book. At this point, I would also like to make it very clear to you what this book is
not. This book is not a quick fix to your problems. It’s not a book on spirituality
and is miles away from being a management book or a scientific title. Nor does it deal in
quantum leaps.

This book will be whatever you want it to be. It will have the meaning you give it, like
the meaning you’ve given to your life or want to give to your life. It is however a book
about truths. It speaks about the infallible universal laws of creation and how to use them.
This is a book that will help you view life from a very different perspective than what you
have of it right now. This book will give you whatever you want and fulfill whatever
dreams you have no matter how big or small they are.

Let this book be your guide. You will always be successful if you follow what’s written
here for you. The true meaning of life is hidden here. If you just open your eyes and start
to read between the lines, it will show itself to you. Try to read it alone otherwise the
message might be lost. Share the wisdom that is within this book with others. What you
give only ends up coming back to you.

I also request you reader if at any point of time you don’t feel good about reading it,
close the book and put it away. If reading this doesn’t feel natural and wonderful, leave it.
If it does, then read it. Even better than that, absorb it. Before you know it, you would’ve
finished this book. Then, you would want to read it all over again because of the joy this
book will give you every time you do so.

If there’s a specific problem that you want to solve in your life, close this book and
then open it randomly and follow the signs to your answer. Every word that I’ve written
over here has a very deep and profound meaning attached to it. It’s only when you think
about it, will you realize it. Who knows in which page you will find yourself and the
answers that you are searching for.

I wish the best to happen to and for you. I hope my blessings and intentions reflect
themselves in my words. I hope you feel them. I wrote this book with love. In fact, love
wrote this book.

First things first

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought.”

-Buddha

E
verything you have right now in your life is something that you’ve always wanted.
“What! That’s not true,” almost all of you might retort. You might start by thinking
and saying “I don’t have the health I want, I’ve been almost broke since forever
now” or “My relationships are not happy ones. Why would I want all those things I don’t
want? That doesn’t explain the time I was embarrassed in front of everyone or that car
accident. It’s not me. I’m a victim and…” STOP!

It is true. Even I don’t know why you would want all those things that you keep
thinking about. I’ll say it again and this time absorb the statement and try to be less
defensive about it. To give thought to IT, is inviting IT in your life experience. The
universe is obedient. It doesn’t judge your thoughts or try to filter them according to your
beliefs. The universe practices the Law of Absolute Free Will and the Law of Non
Judgment. This law exists because what might feel good to one person might feel bad to
another. We are given a choice at every point of time in our life. We are our own creators,
this is the infallible Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction is simple and absolute like the Law of Gravity. It’s absolute
because there are no exceptions to it. It’s like the Law of Gravity that doesn’t care if you
throw a stone, a man or an elephant out of the window. They all are going to hit the
ground. Once you’ve given enough thought to something, it’s like a stone that will surely
hit the ground and become your reality. It doesn’t matter who you are. Once the stone
takes off, it will hit the ground. No matter how impossible your thoughts or the situation
might seem, once you give enough thought to something, you will attract it into your
reality. The Law of Attraction gives you all that you want, no matter what your thoughts
are or will be.

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”

-Proverb

I
magine you have a camera right now in your hands and you want to take a picture of
the sky. Would you be able to take it while focusing the camera on the ground? You
have your answer. And you wonder why you keep getting the wrong pictures. It’s
simple, because you are actually pointing your camera towards the ground and focusing on
it. After all, if it would’ve been the sky that you wanted, you would’ve focused on it and
not on the ground.

In short, you tend to think that you are being a victim of what you call as “Fate”
because the things you want never happen to or with you. In fact, it’s exactly the things
that you don’t want that keep on happening to or with you. It might also be the case that
you get exactly the opposite of what you truly want. Therefore you tend to feel even more
victimized. Let’s take a look at the postcards you’ve been sending to the universe lately by
thinking and feeling about things and ultimately attracting them into your life.

“I don’t have the health I want.” The universe interprets it as “I feel my health is bad
and therefore I feel terrible. I want more things to make me feel terrible.” “My finances
are killing me.” This statement is interpreted as “I’m facing major financial issues because
I’m focusing upon the lack of what I want. Therefore if I keep on complaining about that,
please try to give me some debt so that I can worry about that as well.” “My relationships
are not happy ones.” This is understood as “I hate the people I’m with because I keep
focusing on their negative sides. So make sure I keep getting things that come from their
negative sides only.”

The universe gives you all that you want, so think about what you want. Only think
about what you want. The law is absolutely absolute. It gives you whatever you are feeling
about and not so much of what you are thinking about. But remember that it’s our
thoughts that generate our feelings.

We complain and talk about things that are going wrong and then we wonder why
those things never fail to keep on showing up in our experience over and over again. It’s
the lack of what we want and the abundance of the things that we don’t want that we are
thinking about, feeling and ultimately attracting. All “victims” do that. Those who we call
“lucky” don’t. If you only focus upon the things that you do want, they will show up as
easily as the things you don’t want do. Get the picture?

I am ____________

“Find a need and fill it.”

-Ruth Stafford Peale

Y
ou are and always will be that which you think you are. Everything you have in your
life was, is and will be your calling. The “good” or the “bad” things that have
happened to you have happened because you wanted them to happen to you. Giving
thought to something is wanting THAT something in your life. That’s the Law of
Attraction. Everything that you see around you is there because you’ve attracted it. If you
reflect on your past life, you would gradually understand the striking similarities between
your thoughts and the things that have been made your reality. You would ask me “Why
would I want something horrible like that which I got?” And I will answer “I don’t know!
You tell me why you gave so much thought to something that you didn’t want that it
became your reality.” Thinking about IT is inviting IT into your life experience, whatever
IT is.

At this point if you are getting defensive, it’s alright. It’s hard to believe that our
thoughts play such an important role in making us what we are and our life what it is.
None the less, the Law of Attraction doesn’t cease being the law. Just like the Law of
Gravity, it works every time, no exceptions whatsoever. What kind of a life have you
created? Look around you and see how you’ve created your life by giving thoughts to
things that you’ve wanted. Thoughts become things, even if it’s giving thought to
something that you don’t want or if it’s something that you do want. The universe hears
you and every wish of yours. That’s why there’s a saying, be careful what you wish for,
because it will come true. The law doesn’t know and the law doesn’t care if you are “good”
or “bad.” For it, it just is what it is. Great men have known about the Law of Attraction
and have used it to create whatever they wished or wish to create. There is no “fate.”
There are no coincidences. Whatever keeps coming to your mind keeps coming into your
life. The thoughts that you focus upon expand until they become your reality. This
principle applies to either things that you do want or things that you don’t want and the
thoughts given to them either consciously or unconsciously.

This law has been all around us since forever. The world that you see around you is an
illusion created for everyone to chase. Meanwhile, those who know about this Law of
Attraction enjoyed and lived a life of their dreams because they wanted to keep the power
with themselves. But those who are truly ready for this information will get it no matter
what, just like you did. Your desire for a change has now manifested and this book is a
sign.

here are no exceptions to these laws of the universe. It’s an absolute world that we
live in. It’s something non-physical that holds us and prevents us from flying away.
It’s something non physical as well that holds millions of stars and planets together.
It’s something non physical that gives power to your computers or televisions. It’s
something non-physical again that’s making your eyes read this. It’s something which is
non existent but exists. You don’t see it but you know that it’s there.

Would you believe me if I told you that anything which is physical right now once
existed in the non physical as an idea? Whatever physical things you see right now were
once non physical. Even this book that you are holding in your hands was once non-
physical. Do you realize that this book was once just my thought? This book is that idea in
its physical form. Do you now realize that thoughts do become things? No matter what
they are. Your thoughts will always become things. Thoughts are powerful energies which
send out vibrations that penetrate the universe.

Whatever you are right now is a perfect reflection of what you have thought, felt and
experienced. Do you remember how different you were three years ago? How different
things were two years ago? What were you doing exactly about a year ago? The way you
are right now is a reflection of your past choices. Whether those choices were conscious or
unconscious, they were your choices. Those who you see as happy and successful know this
truth. They realize what they feel right now is pre paving the path for their future. Joy is
the best measure of success. You are smarter today than you were yesterday. And you
know what? It can only get better. By “it,” I mean your life.

We create our life. Life doesn’t create us, we create our life. There is no plan or design
for you other than what you want it to have for you. There is no fate or destiny that god
has for you. The only meaning of life is the meaning you give to it. Now pay attention
because myths are going to be shattered and marvelous realizations are going to dawn on
you. You are the best person you can trust. Trust yourself and realize now that your life is
going to change from now on forever. From this moment on, everything will start to make
sense.

In a perfect world

“Out of perfection nothing can be made. Every process involves breaking something up.”

-Joseph Campbell

I
n an imperfect world, there would be total happiness. In an imperfect world, we would
not be able to choose. In an imperfect world, we would not be given the things we
truly want.

Thankfully, ours is a perfect world. It is in the imperfections that perfection is found.

The universe always gives us what we want. That is why the Law of Attraction has been
bestowed upon us. For the universe, nothing is “good” and nothing is “bad.” An “evil”
person is healed as well as a “good” person. We have been given everything to feel and to
experience that there possibly is, so that we can consciously feel whatever we choose to
feel. It is by the Law of Free Will that we can be whoever we want to be. Sad, happy,
hopeful or fearful, these are some of the emotions that we feel. We never get judged by
the universe for feeling them. All these emotions are given to us so that we can truly
experience life in all its glory. To truly know what love is, we have to know what fear is.
It’s a perfect world. It’s a world in which we are allowed to feel anything and live the way
we feel.

The universe always conspires for you. It always gives you what you want. It never
denies your thoughts. But the only way to communicate to the universe is to feel what you
would like to feel and then it gives you more reasons to feel that way.

This is a world of inclusion. Whatever you think, will be included in your life
experience. The universe doesn’t judge you or your feelings. If it did, it would be filtering
your thoughts and would be punishing you for thinking them. It would be like a dictator
forcing you to feel good or bad. If it did judge you, you wouldn’t have the power to choose
what you want or want to be. Be grateful that it certainly is a perfect world.

What goes around comes around

“Thoughts become things.”

-Mike Dooley

T
rue. There are very few sayings that are truer than this one. What goes around does
comes around. It is mentioned in the Bible. But there’s just a slight
misunderstanding regarding this. You see, we normally view this in the light of what
people do or their actions. Let’s say Natasha did something horribly wrong with Samantha.
Samantha in a fit of anger and frustration curses Natasha for her wrong doings. She
declares that what she has done with her will happen to her as well because what goes
around comes around.

Some months pass by. Natasha and Samantha are still not on talking terms. But from
a common friend, Samantha finds out that Natasha is having the time of her life. She is
happy and content right now like she has never been before. How could this be? How is
she not going through what she put others through? Why isn’t that which went around
coming around?

There’s another ending to this story. While Samantha was cursing Natasha, Natasha did
feel a lot of weight in her words and “felt” that what she has done will happen to her as
well. And it did. This is the power of belief. Believe it. When someone says that “I never
thought that he or she could be like this,” what they are really saying is that they thought
that that which has happened could never happen to them! They hoped it doesn’t happen
to them, yet it always did because they deeply hoped for it not to happen. The thoughts
they were thinking became their reality like they always do. Remember? There is only
inclusion in this universe. The thoughts that we think in our mind will become our reality.
The saying what goes around comes around is in reference to our thoughts.

You bring about what you think about. What you think will come into your life as your
physical reality. It takes twenty one days to form a habit and seventeen seconds to attract
another similar thought. It doesn’t matter what you think. A majority of people give
thought to things that they don’t want. They think of things that can go wrong and dwell
on them. It’s not a bad thing to look at things that can go wrong and strategize. I said it’s
not a bad thing to look, so look quickly at them and then look away. The best preparation
is one in which you are prepared for the worst and expect the best.

The problem with affirmations

“We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.”

- Oprah Winfrey

A
n affirmation is a statement declared to be true. So if you want more money at the
time you are broke, you might be making an affirmative statement like “I’m rich
and can buy anything I want.” Now as soon as you make this statement, your
conscious mind contradicts you because it knows what the truth is. Your conscious mind
which acts like a watchdog would immediately say, “If you really are that rich, how come
you always look at the price tags first before buying anything?”

While looking at the mirror, you say “I’m healthy and have a gorgeous body.” You
might suck up your stomach, puff up your chest and walk like the most powerful man on
Earth. For exactly about three or four seconds you are like Superman! Flying for about
three or four seconds in the sky until a hundred ton safe of your reality falls on you and
the fantasy ends. You pinch your fat and your mind shouts “You liar, if you really are that
healthy then what the hell is this!”

“I want _______________.” This statement is also associated with a feeling of wanting

something that you want in the future but are not expecting. This statement will always
keep you wanting and the feeling that comes with it will always keep you in the future.
The universe translates the feelings of “I want” as to keep on making you feel the feelings
of wanting what you want. So if you say “I want a happy and a fulfilling relationship with
a person who truly loves me.” The universe interpreted your statement as “I want more of
this feeling of wanting to be with a person, with whom I can have a happy and a fulfilling
relationship with.” No wonder so many of our prayers go unanswered. A true prayer does
not acknowledge lack. It has faith in the belief of receiving what you want in your reality
even before it arrives because you already know for sure that it will come.

Say a little prayer for You

“Wishing will never be a substitute for prayer.”

-Ed Cole

H
ave you ever prayed? I guess you must have in times of trouble like we all do.
Things were going terribly wrong in your life and you prayed. Some of those
prayers went unanswered and you became grim. You told yourself that some things
are never meant to be. Like those prayers and dreams that went unanswered and
unfulfilled. The ones that you forgot as time flew by but memories remained.

Have you ever prayed when you were happy? Almost no one prays when they are
happy. Why would they? They already are happy. But a true prayer is that of gratitude. A
true prayer is saying “thank you” and feeling goodness within your heart. A true prayer is
that of knowing and expecting rather than wanting it because we only truly want those
things that we think we can’t have. There is a difference between wanting and expecting.
We can lie to anyone except ourselves. Lying to yourself means denying what you truly
want.

Have you ever prayed like that? If you haven’t, close your eyes right now and think of
five things to be happy about. It might be the clothes that you are wearing, your parents,
the house that you live in, your education, the food that you ate or whatever you can think
of that makes you feel grateful. It is true that you would want something else and you will
get something else really soon, if you are already grateful for the things you have right
now.

If a prayer doesn’t make you happy, it’s not a prayer. The right way to pray is to pray
at a point of knowing that you will get what you want and feeling grateful for it. This is a
point of knowing that whatever you are praying for will come into your experience. If you
give that feeling a place and if you align your vibrations with that which you desire, it will
show up in your reality. If your words, thoughts, feelings and actions are in alignment with
that which you want, it will manifest every single time. They will become your reality as
easily as those things which you prayed for not to happen did.

Your mother
“The phrase working mother is redundant.”

-Jane Sellman

I
f you really are praying properly, you would feel something move inside you towards a
better feeling place right now. A true prayer is seeing yourself where you want to be
and feeling thankful for it. Thanking Mother Nature (whoever heard of a Father
Nature!) for the manifestation and the actualization of your dream even before it has
because you know that it absolutely will. It’s being at an emotional place of knowing that
your dream will absolutely follow you. Like sunset after sunrise and as the day follows the
night.

In my opinion though, we use the term “Mother Nature” because it suits our image of
something that takes care of us. A mother holds, feeds, protects and cares for her children.
Therefore we are comfortable with the label “Mother Nature.” It would make us feel
awkward to think that we are cared for by someone or something that is neither male nor
female. It just is, as it has been since forever. You can choose a label that makes you feel
good by the Law of Free Will or by the Law of Non Judgment.

Most of us are not even clear about what we want. Unless we are absolutely clear and
sure about what we want, how will it ever be delivered to us? If you have ever ordered
food over the phone, you would realize what I’m trying to say here. When you are clear
about what you want, believe that you will get it. Until and unless you have complete faith
in knowing the fact that you are going to get it, you won’t get it. Got it?

Ler’q ger kucjy

“Luck is believing you’re lucky.”

-Tennessee Williams

I
’m “lucky” enough to know more than average about the Chinese art of Feng Shui. It’s
Chinese Vaastu or the practice of creating harmonious surroundings that enhance the
balance of Yin and Yang energies. It’s allowing the flow of “Chi” or what we call in
Hindi as “Praana” or the life giving force. Why I say allowing is because it’s everywhere.
Like there’s sunlight everywhere during the day but not at the places we don’t want it to
be. Similarly at night, darkness is everywhere but not at the places we don’t want it to be.
We can concentrate sunlight by a magnifying glass to enhance the effects or use floodlights
to light up an entire stadium. Whatever we do, WE allow it.

For some of you who don’t understand or for some reason are not aware of what I’m
saying, to make a long story short, it’s about making you “lucky.” It’s about raising your
vibrations and letting the metaphysical energies make you “lucky.”

Do you want to double your income in the next year? Would you like to go on a
vacation next month for the whole month? Would you like someone to start living with
you? If there’s anything you would like to experience, what are you doing about it? If
there’s a place you would like to go, then do you have your passport ready? If you want
new clothes, where will you put them? If you want someone to stay with you, have you
made their room? In short, are you preparing for the things you want to experience in your
life? Are you acting as if you absolutely know that they will come into your reality?

Most of us never do all this. When you start preparing for the things you want, you
start pre paving for the things you want. When you start acting like it’s going to come into
your experience, it will come into your experience. Have you ever done this? I bet if you
did, you would’ve attracted the things you wanted, the same way the Earth attracts things
to itself by the Law of Gravity. It is simple. It is Law.

Amarnly nf a “bad” day

“Every dog has its day.”

-Snoop Dogg

Y
ou are late! You realize that by this time you should be leaving home instead of
leaving your bed! You try to make up for the lost time. You ignore the morning
newspaper that you always read. You try to get ready as soon as possible only to find
something or the other keeps coming up that makes you even more late and frustrated
than you already are. You leave home and after you’ve covered a considerable distance,
you remember that you’ve forgotten something important at home. The traffic lights start
making you angry and they seem to be hell bent on making you late. You decide that it is
definitely a “bad” day. You’ve accepted this fact now. You feel it and start to expect more
things to come that will make you even more late than you already are.

Now you decide to start jumping red lights and you almost get hit by another car.
You’ve already jumped two red lights but with that hurried feeling, you think that you can
still cover up for your lost time. That’s until you take a turn and see the huge traffic jam
in front. “This road is never jammed,” you complain! What’s even more frustrating is that
the traffic in the next lane is flowing smoothly. It’s amazing how everything seems to be
going wrong today. This is definitely not your day. Have you ever experienced this? Have
you ever had a “bad” day?

Amarnly nf a “gnnd” day

“If you don’t think every day is a good day, just try missing one.”

-Cavett Robert

Y
ou’ve woken up early and feel refreshed. You still have plenty of time to get ready
and reach wherever you have to be. So while you are still in bed, you start thinking
about your day and what all you have to do. You wake up feeling happy and follow
your routine of getting dressed. You find everything easily. In fact, you are right now
feeling that today might turn out to be more than just an average day. You leave your
home five minutes early than you normally do. On your way, you see something in a store
that you had wanted to buy for so long but for some reason or the other, the purchase
always got delayed. You are doing excellent time so you decide to stop and have a look.
It’s wonderful and you decide to finally buy it. When you reach the cash counter, to your
joy you find it’s on sale. The sales girl seems to be friendly and compliments you on your
good choice. She informs you that this is the first day of sale at their store. How “lucky” is
that!

All things seem to be happening just right today. As you start to walk, you think about
your best friend with whom you’ve been out of touch with and think about the good times
you’ve spent together. As you are reminiscing, you get a call and you see her name
flashing on your mobile. You get even more excited and tell her that you were just
thinking about her. It’s so wonderful to hear from a person you’ve just been thinking
about. By the time the day ends, you realize that it did turn out to be more than just an
average day. Even “lucky” you feel. In fact today was your “lucky” day. If only all days
were like this. Mornings are usually the time when your whole day gets decided. If you feel
it will be eventful, sad, exciting, tiring or whatever you might feel that that day is going to
be, it will become that day for you. How you feel in the morning is mainly decided by the
thoughts you had in your mind last night. You should also know that your last thoughts
just before going to sleep was what the Law of Attraction was working with while you
slept. That is why it’s important for us to make our last thoughts something that we can
dream about. The law responds to your thoughts and the emotional charge around it.
Whatever you are feeling is what you are going to get more of. It’s the only way to
communicate to the universe what you would like to feel more of. As soon as you do that,
the universe starts to deliver more things that will make you feel more of what you are
feeling. It always does and it always will. No exceptions. Not now. Not ever.

Heaven and Hell

“You grow to heaven. You don’t go to heaven.”

-Edgar Cayce

S
o how are you feeling today? How’s your day going? Is it a good day or a bad day?
Now that you know what good and bad days really are, let me ask you a more
specific question. “Are you in a positive or a negative vibration?” “I mean are you
feeling a high or a low?” “Are you in the process of attracting things that will serve you or
harm you?” I’m asking you this because the way you feel right now will determine what’s
going to come your way. Do you know, Heaven and Hell exist right here on Earth? When
you are feeling down or “low,” you are in Hell. When you are feeling a “high” and are
happy, you are in Heaven. It’s that simple. Hell exists somewhere deep down and is a hot
place just like the Earths core. No wonder those who are thought to live down there are
called the “Fallen.” Probably because they fell down there!

Is it a coincidence that heaven has clouds just like the sky? The truth is, you are your
own “Angel” and your own “Demon.” You know your own “good” and “bad.” Isn’t all this a
wonderful coincidence? As I mentioned earlier, there are no coincidences.

When you are in a negative mode or mood, the only vibration you can attract is a
negative vibration. If you are happy, you can only attract positive events, people or
circumstances. That’s why, the better it gets, the better it gets. The rich are getting richer.
The poor are getting poorer. It’s like a vicious circle. No wonder sometimes when things
start to go in a wrong direction, they keep on going in that wrong direction. You get
mostly what you feel about and not exactly what you think about because feelings create
the attraction. If something doesn’t feel good, don’t do it. If you are doing something that
your inner being is in discord with what you truly want, it will take its toll on you.

However, if you continue to do the things that make you feel good, you will keep on
bringing yourself higher and higher. Thought waves penetrate the whole universe and are a
message to the universal forces to attract a physical counterpart that will be an exact
match to help you sustain what you are feeling. Once you change your mood and stay in
that good mood, the universe will conspire for you to attract more things that will keep
you in that happy feeling. It always does give you things according to your feelings, it just
doesn’t know if it’s something that you do want or don’t want. After all why would
someone think about something in the first place if they didn’t want it?
