Objectives
This conferencce aims to take p in getting privvate and public institutions to find ways to
e an initial step
work with eacch other in addressing problems in rural finaance for agricu ulture and micrroenterprises.
Specifically, it aims:
To promote a common understanding off the risks asso ociated with fin
nancing rural mmicroenterprisees
and ways off mitigating succh risks among g different stakkeholders, partticularly among g microfinancee
institutions (MFIs), using tthe value chain n framework;
To identify p policy issues in using value ch hain financing tto promote miicroentrepreneeurship in rural
agricultural areas;
To identify a areas for collabboration amon ng different sta
akeholders in promoting valuee chain
financing for rural microen nterprises; and d
To leverage private funds with governmeent resources iin the pursuit o of scaling up
microentrep preneurship, pa articularly undeer the aegis of
f the convergennce strategy off the
Departmentts of Agrarian R Reform, Agricu ulture and Natu ural Resources.
