 OPERATION BREAKDOWN OF SHIRT

1. Left Placket making :-

Sew the placket on the left side of the front shirt. Place the fusing 3 cm
away from the edge. Fold at 3 cm , leave 3 cm from the folded edge of
front shirt and fold again. Give stitch at 5 mm from the second fold. From
the first fold give a stitch at 5 mm.

2. Attach pocket at left side :-

Fold 1 inch from the top of the pocket and give a top stitch. Place the
pocket on the shirt and give a top stitch.

3. Right placket :-

For right side placket, fold 0.5 cm and second fold at 3 cm. Give a edge
stitch .

4. Yoke attachment :-

Sew both yoke pieces to the back shirt, sandwiching the yoke pieces
between each piece. Sandwich front panels between the yoke and give a
stitch.

5. Collar :-

Make a collar and attach collar on the neck line.

6. Sleeve placket :-

Cut the placket as per drawn on the pattern and width 1 inch on fabric.
Stitch the cut fabric on the shirt (wrong side on the sleeve) and them cut from
the centre of the placket or placket mark. Fold the one side of placket double
( i.e. 0.5 cm once and the again 0.5 cm ) and make a top stitch.
For top placket piece :- Fold the top placket in half (correct side to correct side)
and stitch closed the area above the desired placket opening. Turn the placket
piece correct side out and pull out all the corners.

With the wrong side of the sleeve facing up, place on layer of the top placket to
the sleeve opening. Stitch a 1/4th inch seam allowance along the placket opening
edge to the end of this opening.

Now turn the top placket to the correct side of the sleeve. Keep the under
placket away from the top placket. Topstitch the placket in place along all
folded edges and seam edge. Topstitch the placket down to cover the 1/2th inch
tail and leave the remaining amount of the placket loose for desired styling
variations.

7. Attachment of sleeve :-

Sew the shirt sleeve into the shirt armhole. Sew the side seams and the
sleeve seams. Now sew the sleeve cuff to the wrist area of the sleeves.

8. Bottom Finishing :-

Finally, stitch the bottom hem area of the shirt. Fold garment edge under ¼
inch and fold hem allowance up along the stitching line. Machine stitch the
folded edge in place.
