Wisdom from the Word - Perspective on Divine Wisdom

James 1:5; 3:13-18
I have been thinking a lot lately about the Wisdom of God. A dictionary definition of wisdom says - The ability to use
knowledge to be of value to yourself and others. It is the ability to judge correctly and follow the best course of action
based on knowledge and understanding. Wisdom in the spiritual sense is divine discernment to view life's circumstances
from Heaven's Prospective. In James 1:5 we see:
1. Source of Wisdom - God Himself
2. Secret of Wisdom - Ask of God
3. Supply of Wisdom - Gives Liberally
In James 3:13-18 we see:
1. Characteristics of Man's Wisdom 2. Characteristics of the Master's Wisdom
A. Strife - 3: 14 A. Pure - 3:17
B. Selfish - 3: 14 B. Peaceable - 3: 17
C. Sensual- 3:14 C. Patient - 3: 17
D. Satanic - 3:14 D. Productive - 3:17
E. No Partiality - 3: 17
E No Pretense - 3:17

We read in 1 Corinthians 1:30 that Jesus Christ in made unto us wisdom which makes Him the essence of wisdom. The
beginning of wisdom is a proper respect for God (Proverbs 9:10). Conclusion - If you really want to be wise in all things
give Jesus Christ the preeminence in your life (Colossians 1:18).
