Less than ten day ago, or to be exact, on the 17th March 2011, the UNSC passed a big-

question-mark of a resolution sponsored by France and its allies, namely the so-called
UN Resolution 1973. The resolution authorised all member nations to observe and/or
enforce a no-fly zone over a certain portion of Libya.

However, mere hours after the UN vote, NATO countries launched a well planned
and well coordinated air and sea blitz against the innocent people of Libya.

Their aim was to send Libya back to the Stone Age, besides spilling a lot of innocent
Libyan blood in the process, and providing NATO pilots and sailors the chance to hit
live targets with live ammunition.

Of the five permanent members in the UNSC, two nations abstained from voting. They
were Russia and the PRC. These two countries are no political dummies or nincompoops.
They knew only too well what would happen immediately after 1973 was passed. They
knew that a massacre was soon going to unfold in north Africa. But why did they abstain
from voting ? Why did they refuse to kill the resolution ? Why did they let the evil
murderers and assassins have their way on a matter of life and death ?

There are probably three major reasons why they allowed 1973 to pass.

1) They were badly pressured by the NATO countries, especially by France

and the US
2) They wanted to maintain a low profile
3) They saw 1973 as another golden opportunity to view and study the latest
offensive tactics employed by the very fearsome and deadly NATO military

France in recent years has tried very, very hard to become the US of Europe. It
has tried to be more right-wing than even the most rabid right-wing groups one
could possibly unearth in the US today. Suitably encouraged by Washington, Paris
proceeded to wave a threatening finger at Russia and at the PRC, inside the UN.

Russia and the PRC are (wisely) choosing to be cautious so as not to upset the western
nations and their very influential western media organisations which today have become
powerful enough to easily bring down or unseat governments. After all, it is always
better to sacrifice a stranger than to sacrifice oneself.

One day, NATO will be ready to take on much bigger adversaries and NATO will
not let its intended victims(s) escape without a scratch. To prepare for such a horrible
eventuality, Russia and the PRC have to study how NATO units operate and how
they go about doing it. ( modern NATO attacks are based on Nazi blitzkrieg tactics.)

Thus, Libya is just another poor victim of international politics ! !
