ood soldiers on Infantry Roadnow have a new place to focus their attack on. Offeringhot dogs, burgers and evensome pasta at extremely value-for-money prices, Peppa Zzingis an emphatic answer to your fast food craving and then some! Themenu is not really big, but after my encounter with the Whammy, that’s not something I’d accuse the burgers of.
GENESIS:
Peppa Zzing was openedon October 4. Run by popular MCMark Rego and his wife Rini, theplace owes its name to their daughterwho thought ‘zing’ best denoted the food, happiness and colours of the outlet. The ‘Peppa’ just adds to the spice.
SIGNATURE DISH:
The Whammysand Peppa Zzing burgers (both havebeef/lamb/chicken options), and theBar-be-cued Chicken wings.

azing: That’s how the ambience canbe described. Peppa Zzing has a typicalfast food place feel to it, with functionalfurniture, and a prominently displayedmenu. But the bright red hues and thepictures add a zing to what otherwisemight have been a predictable setting. Zin

s: The menu has burgers for three player levels -- the regular Burgerfor the beginner, the Monster Burger for the advanced and the Whammy is quiteobviously a multi-player option, exceptfor those six brave people who havemanaged to finish it so far. You also get to choose several extra toppings –cheese, mustard onions, fried egg andmushroom. Yes, there’s a veg burger too. In addition, there are Hot Dogs, veg and non veg pasta, assorted quick eatslike Potato Wedges, Cheesed Fries anda few desserts and thirst quenchers. They also have plans to add somesteaks soon. Amaz

zing: The lamb and beef burgerswere fantastic. The patty was crisp on the outside, tender on the inside and the toppings we tried – mushroom, friedegg and cheese complemented it well. The Whammy Burger is a planet in itself and I just managed to explore half of it.The Potato Wedges were done well too, though tending towards bland. The Pas- ta with Tomato sauce also did not disap-point. Fazing:The Bar-be-cued Chicken wingssuffered thanks to a domineering sauce, and the Cheesed Fries were a bit too hard for our liking. A few moredessert options would help, as the Hotchocolate fudge we tried was only aver-age. S

e:The service is quick, helpfuland hardly any delays. Though the placeis definitely value-for-money, they don’tmean plastic money, but we were told that they’d start accepting credit cardsin a couple of days. V

KEY TIPS FOR TRAVELLERS
»
While flying drink water regular-ly as the pressurised atmospherecauses high levels of dehydra-tion. The air inside a plane cabinis dry with humidity levels gen-erally below 25%.
»
Lay off salt and caffeine, you'll feel refreshed when you touchdown
»
Those who travel frequently, must keep their immune systemstrong by taking a lot of Vitamin C through all red/yellow and orange as well as cit-rus fruits and veggies. Lemon and gooseberries are very rich inVitamin C.
»
Pack some chamomile or greentea bags in your carry-on bag.Ask for a cup of boiling water onthe flight and soothe those traveljitters with some herbal tea. Thiswill relax you when you reachyour destination.
»
Avoid alcohol overnight whileyou fly. It dehydrates, besidesdraining you.

Avoid airline snacks as far as pos-sible. They are often laden withsugar, or have a `heavy' feeling to them. They can cause fluctua-tions in blood sugar and leaveyou feeling bloated and achy.
»
If restaurants are your onlychoice, eat more vegetables thanred meats. Opt for fish andchicken that is grilled, broiled orsteamed.
»
Skip the cream sauces and go fortomato-based ones. While ordering salads, ask for herb dressings and ask for the dressing on the side so that you can use as much as you require.
»
Many vegetarians going abroadstick obsessively to pizza andfizzy drinks. The choices for vegetarians can be salads, potatoproducts, sandwiches, pasta, lasagne, rice, fruit salads and incertain areas lot of green vegeta-bles, too.
»
Begin with a clear soup withvegetables or a combination of chicken and vegetables.
»
Ask the chef to sauté some veg-etables like some exotic Chinesegreens, flavored with herbs andspices, in olive oil and accompa-ny this with a salad.
»
You can also have a combina-tion of chicken with marinatedvegetables. Vegetarians can ask for cottage cheese in small quantities with marinated greens and a tangy dressing.
