IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE FOR PROGRAMS OF STUDY AND RELATED ACTIVITIES

(June 2007)
Elementary, Junior High and Senior High
This Implementation Schedule reflects plans for curriculum revisions and related activities as of June 2007. This schedule, based on a September 1 to
August 31 school year, is designed to give school authorities time to implement revised or new curriculum and purchase new resources. Please note that
this schedule is a long-term planning tool and may be amended in subsequent years.
Provincial implementation of new programs of study is scheduled when learning and teaching resources are available and the program of studies has
been approved, following field testing and/or optional use. The current program is then withdrawn, except for use in special circumstances.
The schedule includes dates for provincial implementation of new programs of study and availability of provincially authorized learning and teaching
resources, guides to implementation, revised provincial assessments and distributed learning resources.
The degree of change for each subject area is indicated using a star rating system (see bottom of each page) to facilitate planning and professional
development activities.
The following table highlights the changes from the August 2006 implementation schedule:
