It`s a foreign teaching community donation drive for the victims of the 2011 earthquake here in Japan. This
notice is to give fellow teachers in Japan a simple and easy method to help our hosts and fellow citizens by
way of financial support by donating at least ‘One Day`s Pay’ throughout 2011.
Just a fellow teacher here in Japan giving you the opportunity to support the victims of the 2011 Japan
earthquake with the assistance of a Facebook account. The real drive and action will come from each
individual, from the ESL teaching community, donating their time and money, with at least ‘One Day`s Pay’
throughout 2011.
Alternatively, you can choose from other donation options by browsing the online options at our Facebook
Community Page.
You can work and donate ‘One Day`s Pay’ throughout 2011 by doing just that! Then photocopy page two and
follow through with the payment options and guide provided.
Your money will go to the charity organisations listed and directly to supporting the victims of the
2011 Japan earthquake, the same places that Japanese will be sending money as well. It will not go to any
affiliated account with this notice or with the Facebook Community Page: Teaching for the Victims – 2011
Japan Earthquake.
Anything else?
You can put this notice up in other teacher staff rooms for the rest of 2011, you can photocopy it and hand it
out to fellow teachers, you could even download this notice (`Teaching for the Victims – Donation Notice’) at
the Facebook Community Page: Teaching for the Victims – 2011 Japan Earthquake and email it to others.

Other info:
This donation drive is not affiliated with your employer, although permission has been granted to post
this community notice.
You do not have to register in anyway. Simply donate at your earliest convenience. You may however
wish to show your support on the Facebook Community Page: Teaching for the Victims – 2011
Japan Earthquake.
How do I know my money is going to those listed charity organisations and not to some
account in Nigeria?!!!
You can double check by calling the contact numbers below or by confirming with Japanese staff
where you make the ATM (or other) transfer.
Why only throughout 2011? It`s going to take a lot longer than that to help the victims!
Yes, you`re absolutely right. The Japanese government for instance has formed a new ministry by the
name of ‘Ministry of Reconstruction’ with a timeline of up to 5 years. This teaching community
donation drive is going to focus on the rest of 2011 for now.
