Map Guide to NUS 

 
Arrival: Changi Airport 
Destination: Sheares’ hall, NUS 
 
1. By Taxi 
o Approximate fee: S$ 25.00 – S$ 40.00  
o Tell  the  taxi  driver  your  destination.  If  she/he  don’t  know  the  exact  location,  do  ensure  the 
driver that you have a NUS map.  
o There are two entries to NUS. The first entry is through NUH (South Buona Vista Road – Gate 
A) and the second one is from Clementi Road (Gate B). 
 
1. Gate A (Red Line) ‐ Through NUH (National University Hospital)  
‐   Go straight along Lower Kent Ridge Road, passing through (i) Yong Loo Lin School of  
Medicine  (1  bus  stop),  (ii)  School  of  Computing  (1  bus  stop),  (iii)  Science/University 
hall (1 bus stop), and NUS staff club (1 bus stop). 
‐  Turn  left  to  Kent  Ridge  Crescent.  On  the  left  side  you  will  see  Yusof  Ishak  House  (1 
bus stop), you shall keep going straight through Central Library (1 bus stop). 
‐  In  the  traffic  light,  turn  left  to  Kent  Ridge  Drive,  and  go  through  LT13  (1  bus  stop), 
Kent Ridge Guild house (1 bus stop). 
‐  Go straight to Heng Mui Keng Terrace and drive about 50 m. The Sheares Hall is just 
located next after Kent Ridge Hall building. 
‐  There  will  be  a  host  committee  to  welcome  you  and  do  necessary  administration.  In 
case  of  emergency  or  get  lost,  you  may  call  David  at  91081260  (HP)  and  Raju  at 
92990411 (HP) for assistance. 
 
 
2.  Gate B (Blue Line) ‐ Through Clementi Road 
‐  When  entering  NUS  (Kent  Ridge  Crescent  or  Engineering  Drive),  turn  right  after 
traffic light  (Kent Ridge Drive), and  go through LT13 (1  bus  stop), Kent Ridge Guild 
house (1 bus stop). 
‐  Go straight to Heng Mui Keng Terrace and drive about 50 m. The Sheares Hall is just 
located next after Kent Ridge Hall building. 
‐  There  will  be  a  host  committee  to  welcome  you  and  do  necessary  administration.  In 
case  of  emergency  or  get  lost,  you  may  call  David  at  91081260  (HP)  and  Raju  at 
92990411 (HP) for assistance. 
 
 
 
2. By Public Transport (MRT, Bus) 
o Go to Changi Airport MRT, approach a TransitLink staff (in passenger service counter) to buy 
temporary MRT pass. They should teach you how to buy the pass from the ticketing machine. 
Approximate single trip fee (Changi to Clementi MRT; east‐west line, green) is $ 1.50 – S$ 2.00. 
Alternatively,  you  can  buy  a  permanent  fare  card  for  S$  15.00,  which  has  S$  10.00  in  value. 
The advantage of this card is that you can use for multiple MRT ride. 
o Upon arriving in Clementi MRT, approach a TransitLink staff (in passenger service counter) 
to  return  back  the  temporary  pass,  otherwise  you  can  do  it  by  yourself.  Find  the  ticketing 
machine, and follow the instruction in how to get refund a full fund (S$ 1.00). 
 o Go down through escalator to the main road (Commenwealth avenue) and turn left to the bus 
station, located about 50 m. After crossing the junction, you will arrive to the bus station (SBS 
transit). 
o Approach a TransitLink staff in the passenger service counter, and buy a bus ticket to NUS. 
There  is  one  direct  bus  service,  Bus  No.  96,  which  is  operated  in  a  loop  from  Clementi 
interchange (bus station) to NUS.  
o When boarding the bus, tell the bus driver to drop you in the Central Library. He/she will let 
you know when the bus arrived to that place. 
o Aboard from the bus 96 and cross the road to the opposite bus stop. Wait for internal shuttle 
bus A1.  
o Take bus A1 and check carefully the bus stop number. In the traffic light, the bus will turn left 
to Kent Ridge Drive, and go through LT13 (1 bus stop), Kent Ridge Guild house (1 bus stop).  
o The bus will go through to the School of Computing and business school (1 bus stop), then it 
will turn left passing trough the new Shaw alumni house and in construction Mochtar Riyadi 
school. You must press the bell and get ready to alight from the bus at next bus stop (Business 
school). 
o Walk  to  the  opposite  way  to  the  constructed  building  about  30  m,  turn  to  the  left  and  keep 
walking  about  50  m  (refer  to  a  black  dash‐line).  The  Sheares  Hall  is  just  located  next  after 
Kent Ridge Hall building. 
o There will be a host committee to welcome you and do necessary administration.
