3. Austausch durchführen
1. Bringen Sie die Drehachsen in folgende Position:

2. Lösen Sie die 4 Schrauben, die die Abdeckung für den Endschalter befestigen und entfernen Sie
die Abdeckung.

3. Schrauben Sie den Endschalter von der Abdeckung ab.

4. Entsorgen Sie die alte Abdeckung. Beim Einbau des neuen Endschalters verwenden Sie später
ausschließlich die mitgelieferte Abdeckung. Die Ausführung der bisherigen Abdeckung kann
zudem veraltet sein.

5. Schneiden Sie das Messtasterkabel, wie in der folgenden Abbildung gezeigt, durch:

6. Ziehen Sie das Messtasterkabel, das mit einem schwarzen Mantel umhüllt ist, hinten rechts an der
Drehachse vollständig aus der Achse heraus.

 7. Kürzen Sie den schwarzen Mantel des Messtasterkabels mit einem Seitenschneider auf eine Länge
von 8 cm.

8. Ziehen Sie den blauen Mantel vollständig vom Messtasterkabel ab.

 9. Entfernen Sie den Schrumpfschlauch des Messtasterkabels:
„„ Schneiden Sie den Schrumpfschlauch vorsichtig etwa 1 cm mit einem Seitenschneider ein.
Beschädigen Sie dabei die Adern des Messtasterkabels nicht.
„„ Ziehen Sie den Schrumpfschlauch von Hand bis zum schwarzen Mantel ab.

10. Nehmen Sie die mitgelieferte graue PG-Verschraubung zur Hand.

 11. Führen Sie die 2 Adern des Messtasterkabels in 2 Öffnungen der PG-Verschraubung ein. Führen
Sie die Adern durch die gesamte PG-Verschraubung.

12. Nehmen Sie das neue Messtasterkabel inkl. Endschalter zur Hand.

13. Schrauben Sie den Endschalter des neuen Messtasterkabels auf die mitgelieferte Abdeckung an.
Achten Sie dabei darauf, die untere Kante des Endschalters bündig zur Kante der Erhebung auf
der Abdeckung auszurichten.

14. Führen Sie die Adern des neuen Messtasterkabels in die Öffnung an der Achse ein.

15. Schrauben Sie die Abdeckung für den Endschalter an. Drücken Sie dabei die Abdeckung nach
oben.

Beim Anschrauben der Abdeckung diese unbedingt nach oben drücken

16. Führen Sie die 2 Adern des neuen Messtasterkabels in die 2 freien Öffnungen der PG-Verschrau-
bung ein. Führen Sie die Adern durch die gesamte PG-Verschraubung.
–– Die Adern des neuen Messtasterkabels verlaufen parallel zu den Adern des alten Messtasterka-
bels.

 17. Isolieren Sie die Enden der 4 Kabel ab (jeweils ca. 10 mm).
18. Bringen Sie die mitgelieferten Aderendhülsen mit einer geeigneten Aderendhülsenzange an allen
4 Adern an.
19. Nehmen Sie die mitgelieferte Anschlussplatine für die Messtasterkabel zur Hand.

20. Schließen Sie das neue Messtasterkabel an die Anschlüsse an der Seite SWITCH an: Schwarze Ader
an den Minuspol (GND) und die graue Ader an den Pluspol (C+).
21. Schließen Sie das alte Messtasterkabel an die Anschlüsse an der Seite CNC an: Schwarze Ader an
den Minuspol (GND) und die graue Ader an den Pluspol (C+).
–– Die Platine verbindet die beiden Kabel, sodass der neue Endschalter mit der Steuerung verbun-
den ist.

22. Nehmen Sie den mitgelieferten Schrumpfschlauch zur Hand.

23. Stülpen Sie den Schrumpfschlauch vollständig über die Anschlussplatine samt aller 4 Adern des
alten und des neuen Messtasterkabels. Ziehen Sie den Schrumpfschlauch bis zur PG-Verschrau-
bung. Achten Sie darauf, dass alle Adern und die Anschlussplatine vollständig von dem Schrumpf-

24. Erhitzen Sie den Schrumpfschlauch mit einem Heißluftfön.
–– Der Schrumpfschlauch legt sich um die Adern der Messtasterkabel und die Anschlussplatine.

 25. Nehmen Sie das mitgelieferte Metallgehäuse zur Hand.

26. Setzen Sie den Schrumpfschlauch mit Inhalt vollständig in das Metallgehäuse ein. Die PG-Ver-
schraubung befindet sich dabei rechts vom Metallgehäuse.
27. Ziehen Sie den Schraubverschluss der PG-Verschraubung fest an.

28. Bringen Sie die Drehachsen in eine waagerechte Position.
29. Führen Sie das Metallgehäuse vorsichtig unter die Drehachsen. Nutzen Sie hierzu den Platz rechts
hinten im Arbeitsraum.

 30. Bringen Sie die A-Achse in eine senkrechte Position.
31. Schrauben Sie das Metallgehäuse an die Drehachsen an:
„„ Führen Sie zunächst die rechte, festgeklebte Schraube ein.
„„ Positionieren Sie das Metallgehäuse so, dass eine bündige Kante mit der Achse entsteht.
„„ Schrauben Sie die Schrauben fest.

 32. Bewegen Sie die B-Achse über den gesamten Drehbereich und kontrollieren Sie, ob Kabel am
Maschinenbett schleifen.

Zu prüfende Kabel
33. Wenn Kabel am Maschinenbett schleifen, korrigieren Sie die Kabelverlegung.
34. Machen Sie die Maschine betriebsbereit. Fahren Sie die Maschine und den CAM-Rechner hoch.
Starten Sie DentalCNC.
35. Drücken Sie den Messtaster hinunter und achten Sie darauf, ob sich das entsprechende Symbol in
DentalCNC blau färbt.
36. Wenn sich das Symbol nicht blau färbt, prüfen Sie die Installation des neuen Messtasters.
37. Kalibrieren Sie die Achsen mit einem Kalibrierkörper; einen Prüfkörper brauchen Sie vor dem
Kalibrieren nicht zu fräsen.
38. Überprüfen Sie die Kalibrierung mit einem Prüfkörper.

3. Carrying out the replacement
1. Bring the rotational axes into the following position:

2. Unscrew the 4 screws which fixate the end switch cover and remove the cover.

3. Unscrew the end switch from the cover.

4. Dispose off the old cover. When mounting the new end switch later on, you will only use the
provided cover. In addition, the design of the original cover may be outdated.

5. Cut the measuring key cable as shown in the following figure:

6. Pull the black-coated measuring key cable to the rear right of the rotational axis completely out of
the axis.

 7. Cut the black coating of the measuring key cable with a wire cutter to a length of 8 cm.

8. Remove the blue coating completely from the measuring key cable.

 9. Remove the heat-shrink tube from the measuring key cable:
„„ Carefully make an approx. 1 cm cut into the heat-shrink tube with a wire cutter. Do not
damage the wires of the measuring key cable while doing so.
„„ Remove the heat-shrink tube up to the black coating with your hand.

10. Pick up the provided PG gland.

 11. Insert the 2 wires of the measuring key cable into 2 of the openings of the PG gland. Push the
wires through the whole PG gland.

12. Pick up the new measuring key cable including the end switch.

13. Screw the end switch of the new measuring key cable to the provided cover. Ensure that the bot-
tom edge of the end switch aligns with the risen surface on the cover.

14. Insert the wires of the new measuring key cable into the opening at the axis.

15. Screw down the end switch cover. While doing so, push the cover upwards.

16. Insert the 2 wires of the new measuring key cable into the 2 free openings of the PG gland. Push
the wires through the whole PG gland.
–– The wires of the new measuring key cable run parallel to the wires of the old measuring keyx
cable.

 17. Strip the isolation from the 4 cable endings (approx. 10 mm for each wire).
18. Attach the provided ferrules with suitable pliers to all 4 wires.
19. Pick up the provided connection board for the measuring key cables.

20. Connect the new measuring key cable to the connections on the side labeled SWITCH: the black
wire to the negative terminal (GND) and the gray wire to the positive terminal (C+).
21. Connect the old measuring key cable to the connections on the side labeled CNC: the black wire
to the negative terminal (GND) and the gray wire to the positive terminal (C+).
–– The connection board connects both cables so that the new end switch is connected to the con-
trol unit.

22. Pick up the provided heat-shrink tube.

23. Slip the heat-shrink tube completely over the connection board including all 4 wires of the old
and new measuring key cable. Pull the heat-shrink tube up to the PG gland. Ensure that all wires
and the connection board are completely covered by the heat-shrink tube.

24. Heat up the heat-shrink tube with a heat gun.
–– The heat-shrink tube shrinks and attaches itself to the wires of the measuring key cables and the
connection board.

 25. Pick up the provided metal case.

26. Insert the heat-shrink tube including its content completely into the metal case. The PG gland
must be right to the metal case.
27. Firmly tighten the screw cap of the PG gland.

28. Bring the rotary axes into a horizontal position.
29. Carefully move the metal case under the rotary axes. For this use the space in the rear right corner
of the working chamber.

 30. Bring the A-axis into a vertical position.
31. Screw down the metal case to the rotary axes:
„„ First, insert the right, glued screw.
„„ Position the metal case so that it aligns with the axis on all sides.
„„ Screw down the screw..

 32. Move the B-axis over the full rotation range and check if cables scrape along the machine bed.

33. If cables scrape along the machine bed, correct the cable installation.
34. Make the machine operational. Start up the machine and the CAM computer. Start DentalCNC.
35. Press down the measuring key and check if the corresponding icon in DentalCNC turns blue.
36. If the icon does not turn blue, check the installation of the new measuring key.
37. Calibrate the axes with a calibration specimen; you do not need to mill a test specimen before
calibrating.
38. Check the calibration result with a test specimen.
