Guidelines for the preparation of the Project Report
1. Abstract
Size of this should not exceed single A4 page typed in single space. This is expected to
be a document of the entire report. It should introduce to the reader the basic objective of
the work reported and how far this objective has been achieved with a brief, clear and
precise description of the methodology of the said achievement.
2. Chapter 1 : Intoduction
This must begin with the historical survey indicating the chronological developments in
the relevant field . The primary objective of this chapter is to introduce to the reader the
various directive sources , suggestive literature and expert interaction , if any , that led to
the identification and subsequent selection of the task. This should end introducing to the
reader fairly detailed description of the task being undertaken in this project.
contents: 1. Literature survey
2. Study and analysis.
3. Discussions with the experts, guide and peers , if any .
4. Organization of the report
3. Chapters 2 : Proposal
This must detail the nature and scope of the proposed work in terms of its set objectives.
The conceptual as well as philosophical foundation of the proposed work that establishes
the feasibility as well as prosperity of the said work is to be presented in logical
sequence
4. Chapter 3 : Planning and formulation
This must include the chronological action plan that was necessary to carry out the
proposed work for the entire duration from July 2009 – April 2010. The work status and
duration spent at each stage must be presented in appropriate detail as indicated below:
S.No Task Activity Duration Resource
in weeks name

Formulation / System organization

This must include the technology action plan that enable you to complete the task. Nature
of processes involved and details about the theoretical as well as experimental studies
that were necessary for your work are to be presented.
5. Chapter 4 : Design of System
The scope and involvement of theoretical as well as experimental frame work involved
must be brought out in requisite detail in this chapter should include the block Schematics
like Use-case diagram, Class diagram, activity diagram or Data Flow Diagram if any, for
the implementation of the system necessary.
6. Chapter 5 : Conclusion
This must include status report of completion of your proposed action plan or progress
achieved by you. Any discrepancies need to be reasoned appropriately. Any further
possibility of expanding the scope and objective of the project if any exists may be stated
clearly.
