About Gessoor
Gessoor is a non-partisan group of concerned Egyptian citizens who
strongly believe in the power of individuals and civil society groups to affect
positive change in their communities.
Gessoor aims to serve as a platform for productive political and
socio-economic discourse.
The group’s activities include: hosting events such as the Gessoor Forum;
developing online tools to enable productive idea sharing and
policymaking; and establishing links between differentyouth initiatives and
individuals with good ideas aimed at promoting positive change in Egypt.

About Gessoor Forum

Recent events have sparked a surge of emotions and mixed political views
throughout the country, but the channels to express these views remain
undefined and vulnerable to abuse. The Gessoor Forum is an opportunity
for interested parties to engage in a civil, public discussion of the rights
and responsibilities of Egyptians following the January 25th Uprising. The
topic of the first Gessoor Forum will be: “The Power of the Individual as a
Vehicle for Progressive Change in Egypt.” A panel consisting of 6 public
figures will lead an interactive dialogue on how individuals and groups can
affect positive change in the private sector, arts, education, development
and legal fields. It will provide an open and transparent forum for citizens
to pose questions and interact with leaders in these fields. Our online
platform will allow for these conversations to continue into cohesive action
plans.
Another outcome of the January 25th Uprising is that a large number of
civil society groups have
formed to address the current political, social, and economic needs of the
country. Currently, there are few venues for these groups to interact with
one another and learn from each other.
The Gessoor Forum will provide a unique opportunity for these newly
formed civil society groups to meet and exchange ideas with others who
are working on similar initiatives.
The Gessoor Forum will be the first in a series of events that will target
more specific topics such as constitutional reform, economic recovery,
and social development among others. The sequencing and timing of
these events will be determined in the near future.

‫ﻟﻘﺪ أﻓﺮزت ا–ﺣﺪاث ا–ﺧﻴﺮة اﻟﻌﺪﻳﺪ ﻣﻦ اﻟﻤﺸﺎﻋﺮ اﻟﻤﺨﺘﻠﻄﺔ وا–راء اﻟﺴﻴﺎﺳﻴﺔ اﻟﻤﺨﺘﻠﻔﺔ ﻓﻲ‬
‫ﺟﻤﻴﻊ أﻧﺤﺎء ﻣﺼﺮ وﻟﻜﻦ اﻓﺘﻘﺪت اﻟﻮﺳﺎﺋﻞ اﻟﻤﻨﺎﺳﺒﺔ ﻟﻠﺘﻌﺒﻴﺮ ﻋﻦ اﻟﺮأي‪.‬‬
‫ﻟﺬا ﻓﺈن ﻣﻨﺘﺪى ﺟﺴﻮر ﻓﺮﺻﺔ ﻟ½ﻃﺮاف اﻟﻤﻬﺘﻤﺔ ﺑﺎﻟﺴﻴﺎﺳﺔ واﻟﻌﻤﻞ اﻟﻌﺎم ﻟﻤﻨﺎﻗﺸﺔ ﺣﻘﻮق‬

‫ﻋﻨﻮان أول ﻣﻨﺘﺪى ﻟﺠﺴﻮر‪ .‬ﺳﻴﻀﻢ اﻟﻠﻘﺎء ﻋﺪد ﻣﻦ اﻟﺸﺨﺼﻴﺎت اﻟﻌﺎﻣﺔ ﻣﻦ ﺑﻴﻨﻬﻢ ﻣﻤﺜﻠﻴﻦ‬
‫ﻋﻦ اﻟﻘﻄﺎع اﻟﺨﺎص وا‪°‬ﻋﻼم واﻟﺘﻌﻠﻴﻢ واﻟﻘﺎﻧﻮن واﻟﺘﻨﻤﻴﺔ اﻟﻤﺴﺘﺪاﻣﺔ وﻳﻬﺪف ﻫﺬا اﻟﻨﻘﺎش إﻟﻰ‬
‫ﺧﻠﻖ ﻓﺮﺻﺔ ﻟﺤﻮار ﻣﻔﺘﻮح وﺷﻔﺎف ﻟﻄﺮح ا–ﺳﺌﻠﺔ وا–راء اﻟﻤﺨﺘﻠﻔﺔ ﻋﻠﻰ اﻟﻤﺴﺆوﻟﻴﻦ‬
