GREAT NEWS... GREAT PASTOR FOR ST. ALBERT THE GREAT PARISH
I came to St. Albert’s as an administrator in September 2008 after Fr. Mike Adams who was also
an administrator here for two years. This means that you, people of St. Albert the Great have been
waiting for new pastor for a long time. My heart was troubled when you asked many times when we
will get a new shepherd for the flock of St. Albert parish. I really did not have the answer then and I
was trying to do everything to speed up the process of appointing the new pastor.
Yesterday I finally received a copy of the appointment letter, which was send by the Archdio-
cese to the new pastor of St. Albert the Great and I am sharing this good news with you immediately.
The new pastor is Fr. Michael Zoufal who has served at St. Blasé parish in Argo for twelve years. He
is an American priest with great skills and experience of working in a tri-lingual parish. I am sure
he will be received warmly and you will respond wholeheartedly to his pastoral leadership. I am in
contact with Fr. Mike and I asked him to send us more information about him and his ministry. We
will put it in the bulletin as soon as we will receive it.
Fr. Mike will take over the responsibilities as the pastor of the parish July 1, 2011 and I will be
leaving the parish at the end of June together with Fr. Mariusz. This means a really fresh start for
the parish. We do not know our assignments yet, but we will let you know where we are going as
soon as we find out. Until then we will continue serving you with the same love and devotion. Dur-
ing this transition let us pray for Fr. Mike the new pastor and for the people of St. Albert the Great
Parish.
We want to remind all sponsors and Confirmation candidates about the practice today, Sunday
April 10 at 3:15 pm in our church. Confirmation will take place on Wednesday, April 13 at
7:00 pm. We are blessed to have Bishop George Rassas to confirm candidates from our school and
CCD program. Confirmation is a parish celebration so we invite all of
you to join us and the Bishop on that special day. Please keep our Con-
firmation Candidates, their sponsors and families in your prayers.

God Bless!! Fr. Rich

FEAST OF FAITH
The Gospel Reading
The climax of the Liturgy of the Word comes with the proclamation of the Gospel. Everything
tells us that something important is happening. We stand. We sing special acclamations. Servers with
candles and sometimes incense lead the deacon or priest to the ambo, where the reading is pro-
claimed from a special book.
All of the readings are important, but the liturgy directs special attention to the Gospel for a
reason. “[A]mong all the inspired writings, even among those of the New Testament, the Gospels have
a special place, and rightly so, because they are our principal source for the life and teaching of the
Incarnate Word, our Saviour” (Dei Verbum, the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation of the Sec-
ond Vatican Council, 18). In the Gospels, the narrative of Christ’s saving life, death, and resurrection
continues to be proclaimed in our midst.
Our Sunday Lectionary is structured so as to allow us to hear as much of the Gospels as possi-
ble. The readings are arranged in a three-year cycle. In Year A, the Gospel readings are taken mainly
from Matthew; in Year B, from Mark and John; and in Year C, from Luke. In this way, over the course
of three years, we hear a substantial portion of all four Gospels. —Corinna Laughlin, © Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co.

OD KS. RYSZARDA
Ostatnio coraz częściej słyszymy pytanie o przyszłość parafii Świętego Alberta i kto będzie jej nowym
proboszczem.
Mike współpracował wspaniale z Księdzem Polskim i Polskimi Siostrami Misjonarkami.
My
Ryszard
