MEDICATION

1. Timolol BD (Right eye) 1 drop

Indication
Administration 2 times a day
Dosage 1 drop in the effected eye twice daily
Adverse effect

2. Xalatan every ON (Right eye) 1 drop

Indication Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients w/

open angle of glaucoma, ocular hypertension & chronic
angle closure glaucoma
Administration Optimal effect is obtained if Xalatan is administered in
evening (but for the patient ON)
Dosage 1 drop in the effected eye once daily
Adverse effect Xalatan may cause darkeninf, thickening and lengthening
of eye lashes. May also cause slight body sensation

3. Paracetamol 1 g qds (4 times a day)

Indication Mild to mederate pain and fever

Administration May be taken before or after food
Dosage Rectal 0.5-1 g (4-6 hrly when needed) MAX : 4 g / day
Adverse effect Nausea, Allergic reaction, Skin rashes and etc

4. Tetracycline 1% ointment 1/1 BD PRN (Laceration of face)

Administration Should be taken on empty stomach
Dosage 30 mg daily in the morning
Adverse effect Diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, constipatin, dizziness
and headache

7. Lactulose 10 m TDS

Indication Treatment of constipation

Administration May be taken with food or without food. *May be taken with
meals to reduce GI discomfort
Dosage Adult : 15-30 mls daily. Children 6-12 yrs : 20 ml daily , 1-5
yrs 10 ml daily and < 5 yrs : 5 ml daily
Adverse effect Intestinal cramps

8. Senna 11/11 ON

Indication Stimulates peristalsis, relieve constipation & pre-

radiographic bowel evacuation
Administration May be taken with or without food
Dosage Adult : 2-4 tad at bedtime. Children > 6 yrs : 1 tab in the
morning
Adverse effect Urine discolouration

9. White paraffin 2 cups BD/PRN

Indication Use as a barrier cream by providing a layer of oil on the

surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the
skin surface

Dosage Apply the cream as when required
Adverse effect Cause folliculitis (inflammation or infection of one or more
hair follicles(opening in the skin that enclose hair))

10. Nootropil 400 mg TDS

Indication Treatment for cerebral functional impairment such as

memory loss, lack of alertness, mood changes &
deterioration in behaviour.
Administration May be taken with or without food.
Dosage Max 24g/day.
Adverse effect Weight gain, nervousness, irritability, anxiety, drowsiness
& GI disturbances.
