Al-Sultan al-'Azam wal Khaqan al-Mukarram,

Abu'l-Muzaffar Shihab ud-din Muhammad, Sahib-i-

Qiran-i-Sani, Shah Jahan, Padshah Ghazi
Zillu'llah, Firdaus-Ashiyani,

The Moghul Emperor,

King Shahinshah Shah Jehan, Shahjehan,

Baadshah

In the memory of his beloved wife

Mumtāz Mahal (April, 1593 - 17 June 1631),

the "beloved ornament of the palace",

Queen Arjumand Banu Begum

Gave to the world its most exquisite monument of love,

The Taj Mahal

Which is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that

combines elements from Persian, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles.
In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was cited
as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired
masterpieces of the world's heritage."
Built by great artists and architects of all times like

Ustad Ahmad Lahauri, Abd ul-Karim Ma'mur

Khan and Makramat Khan

The masterpiece has been adored by all who could have a glimpse
of it, if not in reality then even in its models and pictures.

As a myth goes, the images of Taj sold throughout

its history out-value the expenses incurred on this
great building!

The images of Taj have always been in great

demand!
The Commonwealth Games (2010) are scheduled
to be held in New Delhi, India between 3 October
and 14 October 2010.

The games will be the largest multi-sport event

conducted to date in New Delhi and India

The 2010 Games also presents an opportunity for

India to highlight herself as a sporting and cultural
nation and economic power.

According to a report by Pricewaterhouse Coopers,

the Games are estimated to create business worth
some

$6 billion.

Naturally books on Indian heritage and travel

guides will be the best sellers. No wonder that
books on Taj carrying its images in different
moods, flavors and weathers will be the cherry on
the top in this multi billion dollar business.
To photograph the Monument of Passion Taj, a
passionate photographer is needed who can stand
in thunderstorms to catch a rare glimpse of the
rarest buildings on earth in the lightening from the
clouds

And that passionate photographer is

ABBAS HASNAIN
In the words of Sanjaya Bhatia (Special Secretary
& Director Information.)

“He explores new horizons in his works and is not

afraid of experiments. Therefore, his works are
excellent and effervescent.”

To Anup Ranjan Basu, (Senior Regional Director

I.C.C.R )

“As a photographer he is very sensitive to the finer

details of his subject matter and possesses a
cultivated aesthetic sense. This, combined with his
tendency of experiment with natural light and
shade, infuse into his works a unique vibrancy of
their own.”

And Jawed Akhtar (Noted Film Writer, Poet) is not

going to forget his pictures ever

“Yeh tasveerein bahut Khoobsurat hain hum inhe

zindigi bhar nahin bhoolenge”

In fact Abbas and Taj Mahal were made for each

other just as Ustad Ahmad Lahauri and Taj Mahal
were made for each other
ABBAS AND TAJ MAHAL

In his own words

“As a Producer and executive Director I have more

than 500 professional video clips on the Taj Mahal,
5000 slide films taken in fifteen years and more
than 10,000 photographs in different seasons
........I selected the Taj Mahal, and instead of
clicking the Taj from only the facing dimension, I
had tried to capture the Taj in its different moods
and states. Spending years in Agra on my own
expense, driven by an intense desire to do
something extraordinary, I explored the really
undiscovered aspects of the monument, which
have so far been untouched by any photographer.
In my ten thousand exclusive shots of the Taj,
none of the shades of the monument have been
left undiscovered. May it be basking in the bright
sun, standing erect in intense lightning and
thundershowers or bathing in the full moon, it all is
exclusive and rare… In a hope to reveal the
unexplored….
