Minimalism is the new elite.

Adding to that, minimalism in design is what the top bosses around the world like to see today. Those who are new to
the notion might be amused to know that minimalism is as simplistic as it sounds. In technical vocabulary it involves breaking of any form down to
its most basic elements and bringing out the true its nature.

Ever had the Monday morning blues between all the presentations, meetings and goal-setting? Wouldn’t you like to rather wake up to an office like
this.

These pictures enliven ones senses to a whole new level of creative destruction a.k.a. organization. However, time and again there have been some
raised eyebrows at the origins of this artistic style of creativity. Minimalism as a movement saw its impact across the field of art and design,
especially visual art and music. Prominent artists associated with this movement include Donald Judd, John McLaughlin, Agnes Martin, Dan
Flavin, Robert Morris, Anne Truitt, and Frank Stella. It is rooted in the reductive aspects of Modernism, and is often interpreted as a reaction
against Abstract expressionism and a bridge to postmodern art practices.

Works of Donald Judd

Donald Judd was the first one to crown himself as a Minimalist. Even though Judd used minimum of design elements, his work was observed as
being more inclined towards abstract expressionism than minimalism. Judd is known for using a repertoire of three forms known as - stacks, boxes,
and progressions - that he used throughout 30 years of his career.

So, coming to the real question, what do we ha ve to do with


a handful of artists who started a new art form in the hippie
ridden revolutionary decades of 60s and 70s? Everything.
Each and every employee carries the potential to become a
brand ambassador for his organization. Just by creating a
positive brand impact on the client. The rock ‘n’ roll era is
back and so is Minimalism in its new Avatar. Starbucks logo over the years (1971-2011)
Till a few years back minimalism was just restricted to luxury brands. Over the years corporations serving at a mass level have realized the
positivity that minimalism adds to their message along with making it unified and comprehensible. Post the economic downturn a number of
organizations were urged to re-evaluate their brand presence adding a novel feel to their products and services.

Design professionals today who work for crème de la crème brands have but one motto ‘Clear the clutter’. In case your brand has been consistently
losing out to the competition may be it is time to review its minimalist quotient.
