Subject: MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus Data Repeater may Lock Up
The information contained in this LATIN is provided to assist Level III - IV Authorized Servicers in their diagnostic
process for the product(s) and conditions specified below. The information contained in this L.A.T.I.N. is for
internal purposes and for use only by Motorola Authorized Service Centers under an Authorized Servicer contract

Description: MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus Data Repeaters may go into a

hanged state.

Models: All MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus Data repeaters that exhibit the
following conditions:

Detailed Information: If a MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus Data Repeater with

firmware versions SR1.5A, may go into a hanged state, which may cause the
repeater to NOT process any data transmissions. This anomaly is more
prone to happen with heavy loading of data calls.

Essentially the overloaded repeater and a shortened SIT duration introduced

a timing scenario where the repeater would be in the process of going into a
hibernating state when a data call would come in. This caused the repeater
to get in a state where it could no longer process anymore data calls. The
only way to reset this state is to power cycle the repeater.

Note: The reset can be accomplished via RDAC, if the user is not on site.

The following are configurations which will exacerbate the problem. Please
refrain from using the following codeplug configurations:

• Call Hang timer set to 0 seconds. Default is 4 seconds

• SIT timer set to 1.5 seconds. Default is 6 seconds
• GPS application incorrectly configured to send ARS registration
responses on data revert channel instead of on the rest channel.
