Before/After Broadcast Activities

Practice in the classroom


Day 1
1) Use clock 1 cards ( ~ o’clock) and ask what time it is, “ Nanji
desuka?” . Students say 1 ~ 12 o’clock.
2) Point the real clock in the room and ask what time it is. Students
answer ‘ ~ o’clock’ at this point. Ask the question at different time of
the day.
3) Use clock 2 cards ( :30) and practice 1:30 ~ 12:30.
4) Make students to ask you the question, “ Ima nanji desuka?” You
pretend to look at your watch and show a clock card ( any card from
above.) Repeat this several times.

Day 2
1) Review 1 ~ 12 o’clock and 1:30 ~ 12:30 with the flash cards.
2) Pick a student to draw a clock card from clock 1 or clock 2. The
others ask him/her what time it is now. S/he pretends to look at his/her
watch, tell time, and shows the clock card s/he has. Do this several
times.
3) Practice :05 ~ :55.

Day 3
1) Review the time from Day 1 and 2.
2) Do the activity 2 from Day 2. Include the clock cards :5 ~ :55.
3) Practice :10 ~:50.

1) Review the time from Day 1~ 3.
2) Do the activity 2 including all the clock cards.

Practice in pairs
Use the worksheet to work on telling time. One person points the time on the
sheet and ask, “ Nanji desuka?” and the other person answers.

Take turns telling time 1) ~ 24) on the sheet.
Day 2
Take turns telling time 1) ~ 30) on the sheet.
Day 3
Take turns telling time 1) ~ 34) on the sheet.
Day 4
Take turns telling time 1) ~ 42) on the sheet.

1) Practice na line with the flash card 1 so that students recognize the
individual letter. When they get fluent, gradually mix the cards with
the ka line cards from week 3.
2) Have students read the words on the flash card 2N-2 and check the
words’ meaning.
3) Provide each student a set of the 5 letters for ka, and na lines. Ask
them to place them in the order of alphabet. Name a word from the
flash card 2T-2 and have the students pick the right letters for the
word.
4) Use the writing sheet after Lesson 51.
