Flexible protection functions

The 7SK80 enables the user to easily add
up to 20 additional protective functions.
Parameter definitions are used to link
standard protection logic with any chosen
characteristic quantity (measured or calcu-
lated quantity) (Fig. 12/10). The standard
logic consists of the usual protection ele-
ments such as the pickup set point, the set
delay time, the TRIP command, a block

starts, the rotor windings or rotor bars can
be heated up to a point were the electrical
connections between the rotor bars and the
end rings are damaged. As it is not possible
to physically measure the heat of the rotor
we need to determine the heat by mea-
