‘3._Speciel trestment conditions
No corment.
4. pret cine
Unneceesary from the corrosion standpoint. If the equipnent is purged and then placed on hold, all the
low points shalt be opened, the equipment shall be rinsed with fresh or potable water, then dried or
placed under nitrogen athosphere. AIL the inets shell be sealed off.
5 Discharge of tluids
The fluid discharge procedure shall be submitted to the Onner tor approval before the operation,
6. Monitoring eeguineg
Inspection of bacterial activity on water samples taken on completion of equipment filling, by test kits
for sulphate-reducing bocteria.
Oxygen scavenging treatnent is not specified, because any corrosion (by Loss of wetal) resulting fram this
onygen will renain moderate. However, this corrosion can generate @ quantity of rust-coloured ferric
oxide deposit. If this deposit is unwanted, or If the fluld Is presumed to renain in the equipment for
nore then one week, this treatment shalt be replaced by treatment NO.4.GENERAL TECHNICAL ‘STDI 0005.PRO.001

Function Chemteat conpositfon Minimum dose
Bactericide | Sodium hypochlorite See NOTE
NOTE 10 mg/L chlorine = 65 mg/l of sodium hypochlorite at 48° chlorineter,
‘._Soncial_treatment conditions
The dose of product shall be sufficient to ehtain a free chlorine content of at Least 5 pm, after
Pesetion with the organic matter in the water used.
4, Draining and rinsing
The equipment shalt be purged within 48 h after filling. This purge shalt ne carried cut at att the Low
points. | The equipment shall then be cinsed with potable water. If the equipment ia kept on hald before
use for more than one week, 1t shall be dried er placed under nitrogen ateosphere, ALL the inlets shall
be sealed off,
Ss _Honi toring requires
Free chlorine content at the end of f1lLing. Do not delay sampling and measurement because the free
chlorine is consuned progressively by corrosion,
2. Observations
This treatment is ideal for snl l-volune equipment (2 few m), for operations in which the water is kept
in the equipment for a short tine interval.| GENERAL TECHNICAL ‘STD1.0005.PRO.001

3. Specinl teestment conditions
The chloride concentration shalt be less than 10 ma/t.
The diasolved iron concentration shall be less than 1 mg/l. The ater shatt not contein ferric particles
(total iron < 2 mg/l).
4. Draining end ringing
Drainage of the hydrostatic test water is to be done within one week after completion of the test. The
raining shall be carried out at ail the Lov potnte. Rineing with type A de-ionized water until the
ehleride concentration is the same as in the rinse water. All the low points shail be rinsed.
5. Discharge of tHuids

Sefore filling: dissotved iron and total iren concentration in the hydrotest water, Chloride ion
concentration,
Before rinsing: check the chloride content of the de-ionized ‘ater:
During rinsing: ehteride ien concentration in discharged water
1. Observations
The drainage and rinsing phases can be avoided by using type A water directly for the test.
The need for NghLy de-fonized water (type A) applies to installations operating in anhydrous conditions,
hence a risk of chloride concentration at the holdup points. Instaltatians operating with water present
can tolerate test waters with higher chloride contente, fo a maximum of 100 mg/l.GENERAL TECHNICAL $TDI 0005.PRO.001
