refiere.
Definition: An adjective that points out which item, object, person or concept is being referred to. In
both English and Spanish, the same words are used for demonstrative pronouns and demonstrative
adjectives, although in Spanish the masculine and feminine pronouns use an orthographic accent to
distinguish them from the adjectives.
In English, demonstrative adjectives always come before the nouns they refer to. In Spanish they
usually do.
Examples:
English has four demonstrative pronouns: "this," "that," "these" and "those." In the masculine
singular form, Spanish has three demonstrative pronouns: ese, este and aquel. They also exist in
feminine and plural forms and must match the nouns they refer to in number and gender.
his That These and Those are considered demonstrative determiners (big grammar
expression!) and are often used with the location words 'here' and 'there'. The following
conversation, short explanation and follow-up quiz can be used in class or for self-study to
better understand when to use these essential words in English. For more detailed information
and extensive examples, this guide to this that these and those will answer any question you

This, These, That, Those
Siempre que intento enseñar el uso de los adjetivos demostrativos "this, these, that y those,"
Sí, "Those books are mine".
"Hola,
soy "el coco" y hoy os voy a explicar: "this, that.."
This [dis]. Mira aquí el símbolo: "i" junto a
las palabras "hit" y "sitting" y escucha cómo suena.
That [dat]
Those [dous]
This coconut. [dis kokonat] Éste coco. Uno solo y cerca de tí.
**********************
Ahora, mira estos tres cocos. Son más de uno y están cerca de tí.
**************
That cononut . [dat kokonat]. Ése/Aquel coco.
********************
**************

Can
We can use 'should have' to talk about past events that did not happen.
I should have let her know what was happening but I forgot.
He should have sent everybody a reminder by email.
They should have remembered that their guests don't eat pork.
We can also use 'should have' to speculate about events that may or may not have happened.
She should have got the letter this morning. I expect she'll give us a call about
it later.
He should have arrived at his office by now. Let's try ringing him.
They should have all read that first email by this stage. It's time to send the
next one.
We can use ' should not have' to speculate negatively about what may or may not have
happened.
She shouldn't have left work yet. I'll call her office.
He shouldn't have boarded his plane yet. We can probably still get hold of
him.
They shouldn't have sent the report off for printing yet. There is still time to
make changes.
Could
Could she be the murderer?
En estes ejemplos, could y can
son sinónimos.
Could / Can you open your window?
Shall y Will
primera persona.
Should / Shall I close the door?
¿Cierro la puerta?
May y Might
I may / might go to the park, or I may / might stay home.
May / Can I see your driver's license?
¿Puedo ver su permiso de conducir?
Es posible utilizar might en lugar de may o can.
May / Can / Might I be of some assistance?
¿Puedo asistirle?
Must
Should
Should he call her?
¿Debe llamarle a ella?
Would
El modal would seguido de la palabra like es una manera cortés de indicar una preferencia.
I would like white wine with my fish.
