Weir funds research centre Atlas Copco seals
at University of Strathclyde JC Carter acquisition
The Weir Group is investing
almost £2 million in a
dedicated research facility at
The University of Strathclyde’s
newly established Technology
and Innovation Centre (TIC) in
Glasgow, Scotland.

HI elects new 2011
board and officers
The Hydraulic Institute, the largest
association of pump manu-
facturers and suppliers to the
pump industry in North America,
has a new board of directors
and officers in place for 2011.
Ken Napolitano, president of ITT
- Residential & Commercial Water,
is the newly elected chairman of
the HI board. Napolitano served
as 2010 president of the HI.
Dean Douglas, president of
Dover Pump Solutions Group,
becomes HI president, having
served as vice president,
member services in 2010.
The new board also includes
three vice presidents: Dave
McKinstry, VP, IMO Colfax, was
re-elected as VP of technical
affairs; Dave Roland, president,

JV in Indonesia
ClydeUnion Pumps has set up a
joint venture with PT Duraquipt
Cemerlang in Indonesia.
PT ClydeUnion Pumps Indonesia
(PT CUPI) will package and test
ClydeUnion pumps, and offer
service and support for products
in the field.

million investment over three
years, with funding for year four
onwards to be agreed each year

Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench has
completed the acquisition of JC
Carter’s pump business.
Headquartered in California, USA,
JC Carter produces cryogenic
submerged motor pumps, which
are used mainly in liquid natural
gas regasification and liquefaction
plants, and natural gas liquid
processing.
Grundfos outlines plans for
global wastewater, water
supply competence centre
Grundfos is setting up a new
global competence centre for
wastewater and water supply
based near Copenhagen in
Denmark.
The new competence centre,
which will support more than
50 Grundfos sales companies,
will initially target a number of
Central European markets and
will later focus on large markets
in Asia and America.
