PNPA now accepting applicants

IF you are between 17 and 21 years old and at least a high school graduate, you can now apply at the PNP Academy
which is accepting applicants for PNP Class 2013 until Sept. 28.

PNPA director Chief Supt. Danilo Q. Abarzosa said they are now accepting applicants for Class 2013.

The deadline for submission of application is on September 28. He said no walk-in applicants will be allowed to
take the examination to be held in different PNPA testing centers on October 28 at 7 a.m.

Abarzosa said that for one to qualify for admission to the PNPA, he or she must possess the following qualifications:
a natural-born Filipino citizen, of good moral character, male or female, single and with no legal obligation to
support child or children; age 18 to 22 at the time of admission (born April 1, 1986 to April 1, 1990); at least 162.5
cm or 5 feet and 4 inches for male and 157.5 cm or 5 feet and 2 inches for female; a weight of not more nor less than
five kilograms of the standard weight measurement corresponding to height, age and sex.

Applicants must be able to perform the following physical fitness exercises (pull-ups-10 for male; full; arms
hanging-40 seconds for female; 2-minute push-ups-40 for male and 35 for female; 2-minute sit-ups -- 55 for male
and 50 for female; 100-meter dash-17 seconds for male and 20 seconds for female; and 1,000-meter run -- 4:30 for
male and 5:30 for female; physically and mentally fit for cadetship; with no criminal, administrative or civil case on
file before any Prosecutor’s office or any court of justice and other derogatory records; and not a former cadet of
PNPA or other service academies.

They must submit duly-accomplished application form together with a self-stamped window envelope to the officer
of the registrar or mail to: The Director, Philippine National Police Academy, Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda,
Silang, Cavite 4129.

Application forms are available at the PNPA headquarters and at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame.

examinees, place of examination and test requirements. Inquiries may also be coursed at (049) 545-5939 and

Abarzosa said the admission tests will be held simultaneous at the following test centers: Laoag City, San Fernando
City, La Union; Tuguegarao City; Cauayan, Isabela; Cabanatuan City; San Fernando City, Pampanga; Calamba
City; Lucena City, Legazpi City, Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Cebu City, Tacloban City, Zamboanga City, Cagayan de
Oro City, Davao City, General Santos City, Taguig City, Quezon City, Manila City, Baguio City, Butuan City and
Cotabato City.

The PNPA has produced some of the country’s best police officers since its birth in 1980 with the motto: To Learn
Today, To Serve Tomorrow.

Director Edgardo E. Acuna, head of the PNP Director for Personel and Records Management, said a total of 121
members of PNPA Classes 1980 to 1987 are holding the rank of Senior Superintendent out of the total 342.

In Metro Manila, Acuna said four PNPA graduates are now chiefs of police while 20 are serving as station
commanders. A total of 348 PNPA graduates are now PNP Station Chiefs. The rest of the positions are occupied by
graduates from the PMA, lateral entrants and other commissioned officers who rose from the ranks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Admission Requirements

PNPA needs able, responsible and well-motivated youths who have the aptitude for service to meet the varied and
challenging duties of a public safety service officer.

A. Qualifications
• A natural born Filipino citizen;

• Of good moral character;

• Male or female, single and with no child or children;

• Not younger than 17 years old nor older than 21 years of age at the time of admission;

• Height of at least 162.5 cm (5ft 4 in) for male, and 157.5 cm (5ft 2 in) for female;

• Weight of not more or less than five (5) kilograms of the standard weight measurement corresponding to height,
age and sex;

• Must be able to perform the following physical fitness test;
