DECEMBER

1.Read basic gesture information which is available around the Internet

2.Read Xlib ( X window system programming) from â XLIB PROGRAMMING MANNUALâ By Adrian n
e and wrote some sample programs
3.Installed and explored WayV code. In this process I understood following thing
s
a. Gesture capturing mechanism
b. Comparing performed gesture with already defined gesture
c. Method to Define gestures and mapping them to some command or text
JANUARY
1.Installed Gestikk mouse gesture application performed some gestures
2.Read X Window system event handling mechanism from http://tronche.com/gui/x/xl
ib/
3.Developed a program to draw gestures using keyboard keys.
FEBRUARY
1.Installed and explored easy-stroke code. In this process understood following
things
a. Capturing gesture points while performing gesture
b. compare mechanism of performed gesture with already defined gestures.
c. Creating new gestures and mapping them to command, character or text.
2.While exploring easy-stroke read Xlib From http://tronche.com/gui/x/xlib/ and
STL Tutorial and Reference guide by David & Musser, Atul Saini
MARCH
1.Defined and performed some gestures in easy-stroke and compared easy-stroke pe
rformance with WayV
2.To redefine easy-stroke gesture drawing mechanism explored edge-write, Jsxgrap
h and eye-write etc.
3.To redefine easy-stroke gesture drawing mechanism read mouse, Tablet PC and tr
ackball gesture drawing mechanisms from â UNIVERSAL USABILITY: DESIGNING COMPUTER IN
TERFACE FOR DIVERSE USERSâ by Jonathan Lazar.
APRIL
1.Read different software software development models like waterfall model, prot
otype modal etc and how to apply them
2.Tried to perform gesture anywhere on the screen but failed so defined my own i
nterface to perform gestures in easy-stroke.
3.Explored XDevice programming in Xlib
4.Developed a program to simulate mouse click and mouse release.
MAY
1.Took some basic code from easy-stroke (Open source) and changed drawing mechan
ism from PRESS-DRAW-RELEASE to PRESSRELEASE- DRAW-PRESSRELEASE named my Project
to MGI ( Mouse Gesture Input)
2.Developed my own event handling module for MGI
JUNE
1.Read Graphics in Xlib
2.Developed a module to display performing gesture in the drawing window of MGI.
3.Did documentation for developed code.
JULY
1.Installed MGI on laptop and checked the performance on laptop touch pad
2.Did Testing of developed code so far and made a test case report.
AUGUST
1.Working on discontinuous gestures
2.Exploring GNOME BUILD SYSTEM to make tar ball of MGI.
SEPTEMBER
1. Released MGI which supports continuous gestures collected feedback from Inter
nal employees.
2. Exploring diffents ways to define discontinuous gestures for MGI
