The CSL formally started at exactly 5:15 PM

CA Chairperson Reniel Pamplona presided the said meeting. Chairperson


Pamplona opened and consulted the agenda for the meeting.

AGENDA:

1. Volunteer Corps
2. Fund Raising Activity
3. Authorized Org Representatives
4. College Tour on June
5. Organization’s Concerns
6. Other Matters

The summary of agenda has been approved by the body.


1. Volunteer Corps

Objectives:
• To train future leaders
• To promote camaraderie
• To expand the logistical support /aspect of the CA-SC.

• Mr. Pamplona requested each organization to send at least


2 members.
• Mr. Pamplona also suggested and consulted the body if they
are amenable that CA-SC would also invite volunteers from other
colleges.
• The present organizations arrived at a consensus and had a
majority decision to revoke the suggestion.
• For further inquiries the following contact numbers were
provided to the organizations:

2. Fund Raising Activities

Junk Drive
• The organizations were required to donate “junks” (100
Bottle per organization).
• The council requested to settle all the donations by April 25-
30.
Rummage Sale
• The council would also accept rummage materials.
• Rummage donation was NOT REQUIRED however it was
HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.
3. Authorized Org Representatives

Purpose:
• To promote efficiency in participation and more
democratic representation of the CA Organizations.

• Members of the Volunteer Corps belonging to a specific


organization may attend as their official representative.
• The council encouraged their members of EXECOM
organizations to be a part of the Volunteer Corps.
• CSL will be held twice a month (every Thursday of the 1st
and 3rd week of the month).
• The next CSL will be on May 5, 2011, Thursday.
• For the additional details like venue, summary of agenda
and other pertinent concerns, org representative may contact the

4. College Tour

• Recruitment of freshmen is NOT ALLOWED


• College Orientation and Freshman Night will be held.
• Talents Night for freshmen will also be held in
preparation for Faculty Follies.
• Further deliberation regarding this agenda will be on the
next CSL meeting

The Organizations were highly encouraged to add their members and to


interact with the CA-SC Fan page and CA-SC Announcement and Information
Board Groups.

The Organizations can also send a personal message to CA-SC


Chairperson Reniel Pamplona to add their orgmates who are still not part of the

6. Other Matters:

Mr. Pamplona announced and informed the org heads/representatives about the
future plans of the CA Student Council AY 2011-2012. These plans will be
subjected for further consultation and discussion on the next CSL meetings.

CA-CHE Student Council Livelihood Program


• It is an outreach program called “Tulungan Para sa Bayan ni
Juan”
• Its goal is to decrease the rate of malnutrition and to improve
the quality of life in the Philippines.
• It aims to boost the spirit of volunteerism, especially of the
youth, and mobilize them to become proactive citizens.
• It will be on June 4, 2011 at Bayan ni Juan Calauan, Laguna.

Benches on CA buildings esp. Agronomy


• Mr. Pamplona plans to add more benches for students who
are not affiliated with any organizations on CA Buildings.
• The CA EXECOM has also a proposal to add more benches
and relocate all the organization’s “tambayan” to the parking
lot.
• The proposals are NOT YET FINAL and still subjected
under consultation among the organizations affected by this
project.

FRA: CA Merchandise

• Mr. Pamplona also informed the org heads and


representatives that the CA-SC will merchandise CA novelty
items for fund raising.

CA EXPO

Objectives:

• to revitalize the importance of Agriculture in the


Philippine Society
• to develop unity among students, faculty, REPS and
CA administration.
• to familiarize the students with the list of
options/possible companies for
employment/internship.

• Target Date: 1st week of November


• A 3 Day Activity opens from 8 am to 5pm
• Proposed Venue: Baker Hall or Agronomy Lobby

Theme: (None, for further discussion)

Activities:

• Exhibits (from different invited Companies, Orgs and


Students) competition-based theme
• Elementary and High School essay, poster-making
and quiz bee contest
• Job Fair

Source of Fund:

• Sponsorships (i.e. Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, DA, private


companies, UPLB administration, alumni, and others)
• Proposed Entrance fee: P 5-10
Faculty Follies

• The Council would like to initiate a Screening for the


Faculty follies.
• The Council would also want to conduct trainings for the
participants of the said event.
• The Council will propose to the CA EXECOM to give
incentives to the students who will participate in the said
event.

Inter-Cluster Sportfest
• There was an initiative from the CA EXECOM to
organize an Inter-Cluster Sportsfest
• The organizations voted unanimously to approve the
proposal to have an Inter-Cluster Sportsfest.
• The council will raise the warm approval for an Inter-
Cluster Sportsfest.
• The decision of the organizations to have an Inter-
Cluster Sportsfest will be raised up to the EXECOM.

The CSL Meeting adjourned and ended at exactly 7:01 PM
