This study will determine the relationship between the results of the faculty evaluation and
students’ over-all academic performance in selected nursing major subjects This will be conducted from
January to March 2011.

To gather pertinent data and information, a researcher made questionnaire will be employed. Part
I will look into the clinical instructors’ profile in terms of age, gender, civil status, highest educational
attainment, length of teaching experience; Part 2 will determine the students’ profile in terms of age,
gender, year level; and Part 3 will determine the results of the faculty evaluation based on the
consolidated teaching efficiency ratings from the VPAA, Dean, Level Coordinator, Peer, Self and
Students and the students’ academic performance in selected nursing major subjects.

To analyze and interpret the data gathered, frequency and percentage, average weighted value
and chi-square test will be employed.

Methodology:

a. Research Design:
The descriptive research design was used in this research study. Descriptive method of
research is a fact-finding study with adequate and accurate interpretations of findings. It describes
what actually exist such as current conditions, practices, situations or any phenomenon.

b. Setting
The research study will be conducted in the coastal areas of Ozamiz City. It is sandwiched by
both Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte. Lanao del Norte is only a 20 minutes, ferry ride
across Panguil bay. The city has an excellent harbor location. Its local port is the principal outlet of
mineral deposits, agricultural and forest products of the rich provinces of Zamboanga, part of Lanao
del Norte and Misamis Occidental.

c. Respondents
The respondents of the study are the clinical instructors of Misamis University College of
Nursing and bonafide nursing students. A simple random sampling will be employed to select the
possible respondents.

d. Research Instruments
A researcher-made questionnaire will be utilized to analyze the results of the faculty
evaluation and students’ over-all academic performance in selected nursing major subjects.

e. Validation
A questionnaire will be pretested for clarity and adequacy Items which seemed vague and
ambiguous to the said respondents will be improved and modified. The aim of this is to ascertain the
validity of data-gathering tool.
The reproduction of the final draft of the questionnaire will be made after it will be presented
to the adviser for corrections and suggestions. The corrections and suggestions of the adviser and the
panel members during the pre-oral will then be incorporated in the questionnaire and will be
distributed to the target respondents.

f. Statistical Treatment
To analyze and interpret the data gathered, frequency and percentage, average weighted
value and chi-square test will be employed.
