About SEICO 2011

South Eastern Investment Conference and Expo, dubbed SEICO 2011, is the premier and the
first signature investment event in Kenya after the promulgation of the new constitution.
The County Governments, created by the new constitution will be the focal points for
investments and development.

Keninvest in partnership with Mutui Museo, Bola Associates Limited and other key public/
private stakeholders have joined hands to organize SEICO 2011. Participating counties are
Machakos, Makueni and Kitui. The three counties comprise the region popularly known as
South Eastern Region - Kenya, in East Africa.

SEICO 2011 seeks to Provide Information, Networking Opportunities and offer one stop
solutions to Domestic Direct Investors (DDIs), Foreign Direct Investors (FDIs), Suppliers,
Manufacturers, Policymakers, Development Partners as well as the general public.

Key Objectives of SEICO 2011

SEICO 2011 will be held at a time when the 47 counties in Kenya are expected to receive billions
of shillings from the central government. This has not been the case since independence in
1963.SEICO 2011 main objectives are:

• Identify and Implement home –grown investment initiatives for lower Eastern
region.
• Identify and approach strategic partners and networks (notably financial Institutions,
construction Firms, Manufacturers, Service providers, Venture Capitalists) among
others to support the Investment programs.
• Documentation of all Investment priorities and opportunities of the three Southern
Eastern Region counties of Machakos, Makueni and Kitui.
• Creation of a vibrant , interactive, healthy debate and discussion on the Investment
opportunities in each of the three Counties .The discussions will be driven and

ICT Board which is facilitating the creation of Konza
