CCIHP seeks to appoint four to five rising second-, third-, or fourth-year students to serve as the 2011-12 CCIHP Fellows.
We are looking for energetic, committed, creative, and engaged students to help build a vibrant community of pre-health
students. CCIHP Fellows will be selected from applicants who demonstrate:
Passion: A commitment to helping others and love of health, medicine, and science
Communication: Strong interpersonal, professional, leadership, and collaborative skills
Playfulness: Warm, friendly, and welcoming demeanor
Engagement: Sustained involvement in the College and the surrounding communities
Savvy: Basic computer and web-based skills
Collegiality: Ability to work as part of a close-knit team of Fellows
As pre-health student ambassadors, the Fellows serve as peer mentors, offering guidance and support to first-, second-,
and third-year students interested in careers in the health professions. The Fellows also assist the CCIHP staff in
providing a range of programs and services from career exploration to the development of professional and leadership
skills. As advanced students with a wealth of experience, the Fellows are uniquely suited to work with pre-health students
as they navigate the process of building a portfolio of academic and civic experiences.
The Fellows are appointed annually, and serve from September-June (i.e., applicants must commit to all three quarters).
Fellows are expected to work approximately six hours per week and are paid $1,650 ($550/quarter). CCIHP will also
provide the Fellows with a budget to support their events. Fellows will:
