Over time, the camera'sLCD panel indicationsmay become light and
difficultto read.lf this happens,have it replaced(at cost)by your nearest
CanonServiceCenter.
At low temperatures, the displayresponseof the LCD panelmay become
s l o w e r .A n d a t h i g h t e m p e r a t u r e st ,h e d i s p l a ym a y b l a c k e n .I n e i t h e r
case,the displaywill returnto normalat roomtemperature.
HandlingPrecautions
Lithium Battery
The camera operateson one 2CR5 lithiumbattery.Check the battery
levelin the followingcases:
1. After replacingthe battery.
2. Afterthe camera has not been used for an extendedperiod.
3. The shutterdoes not release.
4. The camerais beingusedin a low{emperature environment.
5. Also notethe following:
. Before installingthe battery,wipe the batterycontactsto remove
f i n g e r p r i n t sa n d d i r t . T h i s i s t o p r e v e n tf a u l t y c o n n e c t i o n sa n d
corrosion.
. Never disassembleor rechargethe battery.Also, never store the
b a t t e r y i n h i g h - t e m p e r a t u r ep l a c e s o r s h o r t c i r c u i t t h e b a t t e r y
contactsor toss the batteryinto a fire.
. Althoughthe battery works well under low temperatures,battery
performancemay sufferslightlyat freezingtemperatures. In such a
case, keep a spare batterywarm in a pocket,etc., and use and

The red-eyereductionfeaturehelps reducered eye with the red-eye
reductionlampwhichlightsautomatically to reducethe subject'spupil
diameterand reducethechancesof redeyeoccurring.

4. AF Modes
The cameracan autofocusin one of threemodes:One-ShotAF, Al Focus
AF, and Al ServoAF. Selectthe AF mode mostsuitablefor the subject.

One-ShotAF
This mode is suitedfor still subjects.Since the picturecannotbe taken
unlessthe subjectis focused,this mode helpspreventout-of{ocusshots.
Pressingthe shutterbutton halfwayactivatesthe autofocus.When the
active focusingpoint achievesfocus, it flashes in red and the in-focus
indicatorlightsin the viewfinder.The exposureis also set when focus is
achieved.
Al FocusAF
I n t h i s m o d e , O n e - S h o tA F i s t h e n o r m a l A F m o d e . H o w e v e r ,i f t h e
subiect starts to move, the camera detects the subject'smovementand
switchesto Al ServoAF automaticallv.
