Meeting Proper

I. Sharing the Big Picture

A) Commission on Youth
a) General Directions
 Programs Development
 Formation of Diocesan Youth Ministers
 PYM animation

b) Way of Proceeding
 PYM Needs-Oriented
 Piloting-Basis
 Need/ Request-Directed

c) Objectives
Address perennial pastoral dilemma of bringing in programs and activities which the parishes and vicariates
do not actually need and/or interested.
Encourage parishes and vicariates to identify their needs and communicate with the Commission.

B) Year of the Youth

a) CBCP Brief Background
b) Local Objectives
Validate Assumptions, Analyses, Theories and the Change Process Proposal
 Set the spirit or theme
More young people actively participating in PYM and Vicariate, more people step forward
iPROGRAMS implemented projects will be connected to the theme of the year of the youth

c) Process
With the mission of “Bringing the Church closer to the Youth, Youth closer to the Church.” First, we
identified what is the Church. Church pertaining to the people and not to the structure. Second, as COY
leaders and those who are active in the Church, we act as initiators in our goal of more active
participation.
But there are road blocks as defined by the first FGD of COY Leaders: Integral Formation,
Environment/Context/Culture/Social Pressures, Ministry Structure and Communications , Orientation &
Leadership Style of Priest (personality & integration), Resources, Inherent limitations, Lack of a Common
ground/same picture.
Strategies to overcome these road blocks: Engage mind, heart, hand -> tapping, harnessing full potential,
Enabling youth-> to share, to participate fully, by providing support/salo, Empowering youth->
big(diploma) and small ways(joy through talents sharing), Integrated formation: doctrine worship and
action (application in everyday life).
