(11.1.1),
Part

describes
the
requirements
for
connecting
to
Essbase
data
sources.
This
should
be
consulted
if
you
wish
to
connect
to
Essbase,
as
the
Essbase
client
libraries
are
also
required
for
the
Oracle
BI
Administration
Tool
install
to
import
Essbase
metadata.
If
you
cannot
connect
to
Essbase
to
perform
a
metadata
import
when
using
the
Oracle
BI
Administration
Tool
on
a
64bit
Windows
system
then
check
whether
the
path
to
the
Essbase

that
is
referenced
in
the

is

on
64bit
Windows
The
Oracle
BI
Server
ODBC
driver
is
a
32-‐bit
application
therefore
please
use
the
32-‐bit
version
of
ODBC
Data
Source
Administrator
located
at:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
The
64-‐bit
version
of
the
ODBC
Data
Source
Administrator
(located
at
C:\Windows\system32\odbcad32.exe)
does
not
show
the
Oracle
BI
ODBC
driver.
It
is
this
ODBC
data
source
administrator
that
will
likely
be
opened
if
you
use
the
option
from
the
Start
menu
|

Tools
option.
In
some
circumstances,
the
ODBC
Manager
may
appear
to
close
unexpectedly
after
creating
a
DSN
for
Oracle
BI.
If
you
re-‐open
the
ODBC
Manager,
then
you
can
check
whether
it
was
actually
created
and
can
be
used
by
Oracle
BI.
