New Components
The main components of UMTS AP Solution include:

AP: Access Point Clock server: Provide accurate clock source
AG: Access Gateway to UTRAN IPSec GW: Provide network security
AHR: AP Home Register, used for AP service management AAA: Authorization, Authentication and Accounting server

Roles of New Components
Normally the AP is located in home or office (Home device), others core NEs are
located in equipment office (Network Devices).
Different OM strategy on AP (passive+active) and core network (active) used:

• For common AP device, passive mode is used:
It is normal to be powered off at any time
AP is individual device and has none impact on others when failed
Only troubleshooting when necessary
• For Enterprise AP and VIP AP devices, active mode is used:
Status can be monitored in real-time
It will solve the performance issues for large number of AP management.

AP Provisioning - AP Manager
1) Generate AP Zone in AHR: AP Zone is a set of APs
which have the same MCC/MNC/LAC/RNCID
2) Activate AP Zone in APM: Configure public parameters

of an AP Zone such as MCC, MNC, RNCID parameters
for an AP Zone AP Manager
3) Configure AP Zone in APM: Configure other Zone Parameters
