While learning this we’ve been taking turns writing down the lessons. Mostly the new words
for each lesson, but sometimes not. When I was looking for lesson notes for CD 2 I notised
that there where many people looking for this but no one seemed to make one of their own, so
this is for all you lazy bastards out there. ;)
One though, if you write your own you will learn the language much better. We’ve used
romanji almost entirely, because hiragana/katakana/kanji should be written on paper to
learned, not on a computer.
Well, that’s it. I’m sure there’s ton of grammatical errors and incorrect spelling, but that’s on
the house! ;)

Amari jikan ga arimasen. - I dont have much time. (amari - not much <- Negative)
Ashita no asa, shigoto ga takusan arimasu! - I have a lot of work tomorrow morning!

Ano hito no namae wa nan desu ka? - What is that persons name?
Ito to mou shimasu. - My name is Ito. Lit. "I say myself Ito".

Ocha wo nomu jikan ga arimasu ka? - Do you have the time to drink tea?

Kyou wa amari shigoto ga arimasen, demo tokidoki takusan shigoto ga arimasu. - I don't have
much work today, but sometimes there's alot of work.
Douryo. - Colleague./Companion.
Watashi no douryo wa toukyou ichi nen imasu. - My colleague will stay in tokyo for one year.
Soko ni san nen sunde imasu. - X have been living there for three years.

Mokuyoubi tsugou ga ii desu. - Thursday is fine. (As for thursday the convenience is good)
Kedo. - But/However/Although.
"That doesn't matter" nihongo de nan to iimasu ka? - How do you say "That doesn't matter" in
japanese?
Tokyou to Oosaka to Kyouto to Kobe ikimasu.- I'm going to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe.

X no hou ga suki desu. - Like X better (Lit: This side of X like better)

Jaa, suiyoubi ni tenisu wo shimasen ka? - Well, then won't you play tennis on wednesday?

Sono kissaten no kouhii wa oishii desu. - That coffee shops coffee is delicious.
Sugu modotte kimasu. - But I'll be back right away. (lit: I'll be back to the place i am.)

Amerika wa nihon yori ooki desu. - America is larger than Japan. (X is closer than Y - yori)
Ginkou e wa sugu ikimasu ka? - As for to the bank, are you going right away?

Ika nakereba nara nai n desu. - I have to go.
Hiru wa ginko wa aite imasu ka? - Are the banks open at noon?
Shikoku ni wa donogurai imasu ka? - How long are you going to stay in Shikoku?
Shikoku de wa suru koto ga takusan arimasu? - In Shikoku there are many things to do.
(Particle "de" as opposed to "ni" to show that some action is taking place.)
Watashi wa Shikoku ni wa ni san nichi shika imasen. - I am staying in Shikoku only a few
days.
Demo, Yamada-san wa Shikoku ni nishuukan mou imasu. - But Mr Yamada stays in Shikoku
for as many as two weeks.
Hikouki. - Airplane.
Densha. - Train.
Nichiyoubi. - Sunday.

Negai. - Request. (Exactly the same as Onegai, but without the honorary O.)

Irashaimasen ka? - Wouldn't you like to come? (More polite than "Kimasen ka")
Jaa sou desu ka mata itsuka. - Is that so? Well, some day.
Densha wa jikan ga kakarimasu. - The train takes time. (Lit. the train costs time)
Sono michi wo hyaku meteru gurai itte kudasai. -Take that road about 100 meters.
Suruto migi ni yuubinkyoku ga arimasu. - Then there is a post office on the right.
Watashi no uchi wa yuubinkyuko no mae desu. - As for my house it's in front of the post
office.
Osoku natte sumimasen. - I'm sorry I'm late. (Osoku comes from the word "Osoi" (late), and
"natte" is the -te form (ongoing form) of naru, which means to become.)

Shitsurei shimasu. - I'm going to commit a rude thing. (Idiom said when entering some ones
house. Kind of like "Excuse me".)
Yuki. - Snow.
Furimasu/Furu. - To fall.
Fuyu. - Winter.
Natsu. - Summer.

Nanagatsu/shichigatsu. - July.
Nihon de wa rokugatsu to shichigatsu ni yoku ame ga furimasu yo. - During june and july it
rains very much in Japan.
