‘The SMD1 Series side mounted dipoles are broad band antennas
which, through different phasing and mounting arrangements, can
offer a variety of pattems (generally cardioid) tailored to specific
‘coverage requirements. These antennas can be mounted in dual
or four-stack arrays for 6B gain over a single
The SMD1 is constructed of heavy gauge corrosion resistant
anodised aluminum tubing with @ high pressure cast aluminum hub
assembly and stainless steel ftings, This combination provides an
‘exceptionally strong antenna, suited for extreme weather conditions.
The SMD12, is a ruggedized antenna featuring extremely heavy
walled tubing, all welded alodined aluminum construction and a
black epoxy coating to aid in solar heat retention. The SMD14 is a
stainless steel version and is ideal in corrosive marine environments.
All of the antennas are electrically identical
SMD antenna construction allows for the entire antenna to rest at
ground potential making it highly recommended in lightning prone
applications.
Can be phased to provide 3dBd or 6dBd gain in a variety of
patterns to suit specific requirements. See page 78 for our full
range of phasing hamesses,
Full bandwidth coverage for both single antennas and phased
arrays - ideal in community sites
Ruggedized and stainless steel versions available
Normally available ex-stock for immediate delivery
‘SMD sores antennas are supplied wi a boom for 4 wave antenna to mast
spacing. Booms for Ys wave spacing and fll wave spacing are aso avaiable.

‘The SMD4 series are a range of unily gain side mounted dipoles
belaal Ld which can be used as a single antenna for short range applications
or, if desired, phased together to provide high gain array coverage
characteristics,
‘The SMD4-67 is of all welded aluminum construction. The feed point is
protected by an ABS cap, with the intemal PTFE based cable
‘construction providing excellant intermodulation performance (-150d8).
‘The stainless steel SMD41-67 is electrically identical to its aluminum
counterpart and is recommended for corrosive environments,
All of the SMD4 series antennas are directly DC grounded for
‘superior lightning protection and the reduction of precipitation static
noise,
‘The SMD4 Series antennas are supplied with a boom for % wave
