Scrap Rap™ Workshop – New Prospects

Diane Villegas

Every “Booking Wallet” I hand out contains a ticket to a FREE Workshop. The Scrap Rap™
Workshop was designed to be something I can offer at no cost to those who have never
been to one of my Workshops before. (For more information about Booking Wallets, see the
Success Library>Booking> Booking Secrets with Diane Villegas—Audio.)

The purpose of the FREE Workshop is a brief introduction into the world of CS…kind of a
“Part 2” to handing out the “Booking Wallet”. As a general rule, I utilize the complimentary
past Scrap Raps™ we receive with each Workshop shipment. My efforts at this Workshop
are primarily focused on bookings. (At the booked Workshop, I follow the traditional script…
focusing on shopping and membership at that time.)

For the purposes of this outline, I will be referencing the July 2010 Destinations Scrap
Rap™.

Workshop Prep:
• In addition to my normal Workshop items, I also bring:
o At least 2 completed scrapbook pages using the paper and embellishments from
the CS kit
o A completed Wherever You Are Greeting Card
o A completed Global Travel Book
o Completed page using Bold Effects Technique
o Completed page using X Marks the Spot Stencil
o Completed page using Decorative Journaling
o Completed Contemporary Card using stamping technique
o Completed Pizza Box Surprise project

• The project for this Workshop is Contemporary Card. I also pack the items needed to
complete this project:
o UM Rubber (both) pre-cut and ready for mounting
o Mount It Adhesive
o Ink Pads (preferably one color)
o Acrylic Rulers
o One paper panel for stamping and 2 more panels for matting in white envelope
sealed with gold logo sticker. (I used POPS for this.)

After Membership Commercial portion of your regular Workshop script, you’ll proceed to
do the following:
• Introduce the Kit
o I purchase 3 kits exclusively for these workshops (I pre-order every month). I
choose 2 or 3 guests that are surrounded by and easily visible by other guests to
open the Pizza Boxes.
o I let them pass the 3 kits around the room so they can all see the contents of the
box and touch the luscious papers.
• Go over the components of the Workshop with Guests to be sure they have everything
needed:
o Scrap Rap™
o White envelope sealed with CS Logo sticker
 The following are to be shared among the group
• UM Rubber stamp with wavy lines
• UM Rubber Quote
• Colored Pencils
• Acrylic Ruler
• Ink
• Introduce the group to our Scrap Rap™ newsletter–
o Monthly Newsletter (have SR, SRJr, and Stamp Rap) comes with corresponding kit
o Introducing them to the world of Club Scrap® with a “walk through” (usually I
used previous kits SR and indicate so during the introduction).
o “I will be sharing samples I have made from the kit.”
o “I will be giving you one demonstration.”
o “We will be completing one project from the newsletter.”

• Page 1
o First direct Guests to the note from Dinah and Tricia… let them know that we as
members receive a personal note from the founders every month with a little
information on the new kit, and special notes on happenings at the Clubhouse.
o The Gallery:

kit and embellishments that are available in one or more of the side orders.

similarities between mine and the Design team’s.

presentation.”

wonderful and beautiful keepsake.”

o “These pages reveal how we build scrapbook pages. This technique is called
ALSB™: Assembly Line Scrapbooking. These two pages reveal the versatility of
this kit, and what beautiful pages can be accomplished using the kit contents.
This is a whopping 14 pages!”
o Share a brief xplanation of ALSB’s time and money saving technique.
o After pre-selecting 2 of the ALSB pages, you’ll cut and assemble them using the
instructions in front of the Guests.
o “Now I am going to demonstrate for you how ALSB works (I exaggerate the first
cut for effect). This is the hardest part, ladies…I need your help to cut into this

appreciation for this creative expression.”

Some additional notes:

• I use this format for my FREE Workshops, but it would also be great for a “Celebration”
Workshop once a month, where you’d invite past Hosts; gearing your message toward
Membership and Recruiting and updating the commercials accordingly. (For a
“Celebration” Workshop, use a Scrap Rap™ from the newest kit.)
• Emphasize what you’re using at the moment…you can build ANY Workshop from a
Scrap Rap™…free or for a fee.
• If you don’t have any free Scrap Raps™ that work, you can purchase them in GHM for
$2.00 ($1.60 w/ discount).
• After the Workshop is over, you can use the “used” UM rubber (individual
pieces/images) as prizes or giveaways
• I like to offer one free WS per month…and one celebration WS per month using this
format
• For Cash & Carry, only bring things directly related…such as Greetings to Go, Wood-
mounted stamps, etc. You don’t have to bring too much…but bring lots of samples.
You also might want to consider bring laptop if possible for shopping on the spot.
