BACKGROUND
The organizers are happy to invite doctoral students of earth sciences and ecology from Estonia and abroad
to present their original research. The conference title "Next generation insights into geosciences and
ecology" refers to the doctoral students as our future scientists as well as to the novel ideas and methods
presented at this conference. Doctoral students' conference is special for other reasons too - it is organized
and held only by PhD students.

REGISTRATION
The Conference is open to everyone and free of charge. Please send all details in the attached registration
form to the Conference Secretariat (kadri.koorem@gmail.com or inga.hiiesalu@gmail.ee) before March
28 if it includes abstract submission or before April 29 for late registration.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Organizers may provide full or partial financial support for doctoral students that covers travel and/or
accommodation costs on a competitive basis. Applicants should have an accepted abstract for oral or poster
presentation. Request for funding should be indicated on the registration form.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstracts are accepted for oral or poster presentation. Please indicate your preference when submitting.
Please send the abstract to the Conference Secretariat (kadri.koorem@gmail.com or
inga.hiiesalu@gmail.com).The deadline for abstract submission is March 28.
Abstract format: Abstract is limited to one A4-size page, text only without any figures or tables. Top,
bottom, left, and right margins 25 mm.
Presentation: Oral/Poster (choose appropriate). Times font, 14 pt.
Title: Upper and lower case, left justified, Times font, 14 pt, bold.
Author names: Upper and lower case, left justified, first name first, surname last, Times font, 12pt.
Underline the name of the presenter.
Affiliations: Upper and lower case, left justified, Times font, 10 pt. Numbered superscripts should be used
to indicate the affiliation of each contributor. E-mail address can be added in parentheses at the end of the
corresponding contributor’s affiliation.
Main text: Single-spaced text, Times 10 pt font, no section headings.
Length: maximum 300 words.
