„The book – a tool for education,
culture, entertainment”

Argument: In a rapidly changing society, in which it is hard to keep pace with new
discoveries, it is very important not to give up some habits designed to enrich our
experience, particularly the soul, to assist us in our growth as humans . With the
collaboration of SC Exposib, the organizer of the event " Sibiu Bookfest 2011 - Book Fair
held on the occasion of the International Theatre Festival held in Sibiu, we took advantage
of the unique opportunity to bring together educators interested in guiding children towards
this usually so good yet so neglected habit in our days - reading.
The purpose of the symposium: defining the role of the book as an indispensable tool in
planning and conducting teaching process; promoting the importance of reading and the
role it plays in the child's personality development.
The symposium is open to all teachers concerned with achieving a quality education that is
based on effective communication, on promoting reading as a means of own personal
development, promoting the book's role in the development of human personality.
Objectives:
- To disseminate examples of good practice regarding the role of books in the educational
process;
- The development of interest in reading;
- To develop creativity and critical thinking;
- To develop institutional partnerships;
- To create a learning environment which motivates inclination towards reading.

1. The book - an indispensable tool in organizing and conducting educational activities
2. The book - past, present and future; e-book - a modern tool of knowledge
3. Pleading for books and reading in a computerized world
Place: Book Fair held in Piata Mica in Sibiu and Kindergarten no. 15 Sibiu, str. Gladiolelor
no. 13 A.

Registration of participants:
Registration to the symposium can be done by filling the registration form and sending it
via e-mail address to anca_lucaciu@yahoo.com until May 20, 2011. For more information,
please contact Anca Buzila, telephone number 0744/232902. Partnership Agreement will
be signed in two copies and sent in an envelope along with entry fee (10 RON / teacher)
and a self-addressed stamped envelope for returning the diploma of participation and a
copy of the partnership agreement for non directly participators at the symposium.
Technical conditions for the papers for the section "Communications": paper size A4 -
2-4 pages, Word, Times New Roman 12, line spacing 1.5, alignment, justify ', margins 2
cm. All entries will be written with diacritics.
A work may have maximum two authors.
The bibliography will register the sources, including the Internet sources. All works
must be originals.
Papers will be sent via e-mail address anca_lucaciu@yahoo.com until May 22,
2011, and will be accompanied by a powerpoint presentation in a different attachment, up
to 10 slides.
This session will be held at the kindergarten no.15 Sibiu, str. Gladiolelor no. 13 A.
Books release session: We invite and encourage all colleagues who have published
books of interest to teachers to present them in this session. The presentation can either
take the form of a brief summary - oral, video (powerpoint) or the artistic interpretation
(recitation, dramatization), but with the request to fit within 10 minutes. Please inform us in
writing if you need something special for this presentation (flipchart, projector, computer or
other). This session will be held in the Little Square at the Book Fair.
Fee: 10 RON / teacher, regardless of the section / sections in which they participate, will
be used for:
- Personal map;
- DVD with ISBN with papers presented at a session of communication;
- Certificates/diplomas of participation;
- Protocol
Symposium Program:
11 to 11.30 - welcoming the participants, handing personal portfolios, visiting of the
exhibition and book fair.
11.30 to 13 - book release: drama, recitation, lectures
13-14 - coffee break and travel to Kindergarten no. 15, No. Gladiolelor Street. 13A
14 to 16 - the scientific session
16 to 16.30 - Award ceremony, the closing of the symposium
