Teacher Appreciation Week


This week we thank our teachers who dedicate countless hours to their work. We love
every one of you and thank you very much for all of the work that you do!

**STAFF & STUDENTS: The recent storms have left parts of Alabama without resources. Let’s make a nice
contribution of all kinds --- NOT MONEY. Please drop off items (water, non-perishable goods, and any necessity items) to
Mr. London’s office or the SRO’s office. Drop off deadline is May 11. Our deputies have volunteered to deliver the items.

**SENIORS going on the SENIOR TRIP must see Mrs. Croom by TODAY, May 5, if you
have not paid your $50 bus fee. Also, students must have parents fill out a medical
release form & return it to Mrs. Croom by TODAY. Both must be done in order to get on
the bus. TRIP DEPARTURE TIME has been moved to 6:00am - - - which means students
must be at FCS at 5:00am for luggage inspection!!!
**LITERACY on the LAWN: TODAY, May 5, on the front lawn of the
school-
ELEMENTARY PARENTS were sent an invitation with the grade level times on the invitation.
MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS are invited from 12:16-2:15pm.
Bring a beach towel or blanket and enjoy lunch & Literacy on the Lawn!!!
**”James and the Giant Peach”: TODAY, May 5, in the FCS cafeteria @
6:00pm,
the public is invited to the “free” evening performance of “James and the Giant
Peach” by the 5th grade students. The play will be performed Thurs, May 5, at approx. 2:00pm for
grades K-3.
On Fri, May 6, there will be a performance at approx. 2:00pm for grades 4-6.

**PTO MEETING: Monday, May 9, in the FCS library @ 6:00pm


**SWAT Relay for Life Gift Basket: Congratulations to Gretchen Hedman, FCS 2nd
grade teacher – she was the winner of the gift basket worth approximately $150.00!!!

**Friday Night Movie: The Renovatio Youth Leadership Organization is doing a fundraiser for their educational trip
this summer. The group will be having a “Friday Night Movie Night” on May 13 at the St. Patrick’s Church in Apalachicola
from 4:00pm-midnight. Advance tickets are $5.00 or $7.00 if purchased at the door. To purchase tickets, please see
Deanna Quick, Adreenah Wynn or any other Renovatio member.

GED Classes have moved back to Franklin County School!


Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays (except holidays) from 4:00pm-8:00pm in 1100 building.
To register, see Linda Bradley from 4:00-7:00pm on days above.
The next GED Test will be given June 20 & 21 at the Franklin County School library at 6:00pm.
To register for the test contact Linda Bradley during GED classes or Maxine Creamer @ 670-4481.
