Helping Others
There is another form of fasting. We all know the painful one—giving up food. But what about
trying the way God talks about in Isaiah 58:6-9? We can handle this fast no matter what our
physical condition. When we see injustice, speak out. Have you watched that program, “What
Would You Do”? Many step in and try to do something when they see someone treated un-
fairly—what do YOU do? Help carry someone’s burden for one day. Help feed someone. We
have the perfect opportunity with the Food Pantry here in our church. You can provide shelter
by giving to the Good Samaritan Fund. We have stopped several foreclosures recently. This is
the kind of fast the Lord has chosen. Fasting is self-denial and what better way to deny self than
to give to others. Then the Glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Many are already partici-
pating in this fast, but do you realize many of the blessings in your life are a result of this fast?
Please read Isaiah 58. Very Powerful!
