Welcome to the
Christmas Cookie Plates
Project

I have always enjoyed baking, especially over the holidays. I love

putting together goodie plates to give to family and friends. As I was
thinking and praying about what kinds of activities I wanted to do with
the kids this coming holiday season, this idea came to mind.

Wouldn’t it be fun to bake a different cookie recipe each day for a

couple weeks, then make up a bunch of cookie plates for family,
friends, and neighbors? I thought it sounded like so much fun. As I
was beginning to gather my recipes and make a shopping list, I
thought that others might enjoy having all this information available in
an easy to print and use format. So…here it is…a complete guide for
making over 30 cookie plates to give away this holiday season!

This project will last four (4) weeks, beginning the last week of
November. On the pages that follow, you will find instructions for
each week, forms to use in your planning, the cookie recipes, a
complete shopping list, instructions on assembling the cookie plates,
and even gift tags and cards to print and attach to your cookie plates!

Are you ready for some family fun? Spread Christ’s love this holiday
season with this fun and easy holiday project – The Christmas Cookie
Plates Project!

Happy baking,

Sheri
Week #1
Planning and Preparation Week
(The last week of November)

1 – Decide how many cookie plates you want to make. I have

included a Cookie Plates Gift List in this section for you to use. Write
out the names of each person that you want to make a plate for. If
you make every single recipe in this ebook (all 10 of them) you will
have enough cookies to make a little over 30 cookie plates (if you put
18 cookies on each plate). If you don’t want to make that many
cookies, then simply cut out a few of the recipes, then adjust your
shopping list accordingly.

2 – Go shopping and get all your supplies. I have made it very

easy for you by including a complete Cookie Plates Shopping List in
this section. Simply print it out and go shopping!

3 – Make out a baking schedule for the next two weeks. Decide
which recipe you will make each day and record it on the Cookie
Plates Baking Schedule I have included in this section. Keep in mind
that certain recipes require the cookie dough to be refrigerated for 3
hours or overnight. You will either need to mix these recipes up the
night before you plan on baking them, or mix them up in the morning
and bake them in the afternoon.

4 – Prepare space in your freezer. Over the next couple weeks you
will be baking a bunch of cookies! You not only need to make sure
you have containers for them all, but a place cleared in your freezer.
Take some time this week to clear a whole shelf if possible!

Plan out your two baking weeks by writing in the recipe you will
be making each day. Remember some of these recipes require
you to refrigerator the dough for several hours or overnight. With
that in mind, you may need to mix up the dough in the morning
and bake the cookies in the afternoon.

Week #2
Baking Week – 5 recipes
(The first week of December)

and

Week #3
Baking Week – 5 recipes
(The second week of December)

1 – Bake the cookies. Bake one cookie recipe each week day (10
total). Each week day for the next two weeks you will be baking one
of the ten cookie recipes. On the next page you will see a list of all
the cookie recipes, followed by the recipes themselves.

2 – Freeze the cookies. Each day, after the baking has been done
and the cookies are cool, you will want to carefully store them away in
the freezer until you are ready to assemble the cookie plates.

Use tupperware containers to store your cookies in the freezer,

putting wax paper in between layers. This will keep the cookies from
sticking together when they freeze.

You will need quite a few containers to freeze your cookies in, so
make sure you have these on hand before you start baking!

Week #4
Assembling and Delivering the
Cookie Plates
(The third week of December)

1 – Write out a schedule for delivering your cookie plates using

the Cookie Plates Delivery Schedule included in this section. My
guess is that you will be delivering your cookie plates over several
days instead of all in one day. Sit down with your family and decide
when you will be delivering each of the cookie plates on your list.
Make sure that everyone on your Cookie Plates Gift List gets
transferred over to this list! You don’t want to forget anyone. Once
that is done, then you are ready to move on to the next
step…assembling the cookie plates!

2 – Assemble the cookie plates! For all the details on this, see the
How to Assemble the Cookie Plates page in this section. Note: You
will be assembling the plates in groups according to your delivery
schedule. This will include instructions on arranging the cookies,
covering with plastic wrap, attaching a bow, and printing out gift tags
or cards, etc.

3 – Deliver the cookie plates! Make this a fun time with your family.
Load everyone into the car, along with the cookie plates to be
delivered and head out. A neat idea would be to sing a Christmas
carol as a family before delivering the cookie plate to each friend,
family member, or neighbor. Afterwards, come home to some hot
cocoa and holiday cookies!

How to Assemble the Cookie Plates

Now the real fun begins…assembling your cookie plates!

I would only assemble them as you have plans to deliver them. In

other words, don’t assemble all 30 plates if you only plan on
delivering 10 of them one night.

To assemble the cookie plates, set out on your dining room table the
number of holiday plates you will be assembling. Get the containers
of cookies out of the freezer and begin putting an assortment of
cookies on each plate.

Once you have about 18 cookies on each plate (you can do more or
less, I just chose 18 as an estimate), you are ready to cover with
plastic wrap. Put the rest of the cookies back in the freezer until the
next “batch” of cookie plates needs to be assembled.

Cover each cookie plate with plastic wrap.

Now print out the gift tags or cards you want to attach to each plate.
Cut them out and personalize them. Attach the gift tags or cards to
the top of the cookie plate with some tape, and then attach a holiday
bow.

Your cookie plates are now ready to deliver!

Note: You will want to allow a couple hours for the cookies to totally
thaw before delivering!
Gift Tags and Cards for
Your Cookie Plates

The following pages of gift tags and cards can be

printed onto white or colored cardstock paper. Cut
the tags/cards out, fill them in, and tape to your cookie
plates. (The cards will need to be folded in half like a
card!) Enjoy!
