Personality Theory

You have a set of unique traits that make you who you are. The study
of personality identifies and organizes your characteristics and
behaviors in such a way as to help you better understand yourself.
Your Preferences
There are four pairs of opposite preferences. Everybody has a greater
Your Preferences
tendency toward one preference than the other in each pair. For
example, in the Thinking (T) vs. Feeling (F) pair, you have a stronger
tendency toward Thinking (T). Note that each preference has a single
letter (such as "F") that identifies it.
Your preferences are Introversion,
Your Temperament
Intuition, Thinking and Perceiving
People can be classified as having one of four temperaments. The idea
that there are four temperaments has been around for centuries and is
useful for painting a broad picture of a person. We identify
temperament by a person's preference letters. For example, since you
prefer Intuition (N) and Thinking (T), your temperament is NT.
Your Personality Type
Personality Type is more specific than temperament. In fact, there are
four personality types within each temperament, for a total of 16
distinct types. As with temperament, personality type is also identified
by the letters of your dominant preferences. A detailed picture can be
painted for each personality type.
Your Mind
Add the mind to all of this. A person has a natural set of Multiple
Intelligences (logical, linguistic, musical, etc.) in which they excel as
well as preferred Learning Styles (auditory, visual, etc.). Further,
Hemispheric Dominance (which side of your brain is utilized more
often) plays a role in shaping your personality.

Many psychologists, philosophers and other thinkers have for centuries

proposed that there are four temperaments that can describe a person
with reasonable accuracy. As mentioned earlier in Personality Theory

preferences. Your temperament is NT since you lean toward the
Intuition (N) and Thinking (T) preferences, for example.

studies the motivations underlying human behavior.

Introduction to Multiple Intelligences

Howard Gardner, a graduate of Harvard University and a
developmental psychologist, developed the theory of Multiple
Intelligences in 1986. Gardner believes that intelligence, the way it has
traditionally been understood (logically, as with I.Q. tests), does not
explain the wide variety of human abilities. The theory of Multiple
Intelligences suggests that we excel with different types of intelligence.

Your Multiple Intelligences In addition to being logical and Number Smart, a person might also be

Introduction to Learning Styles

Learning Styles is a theory that suggests people learn better using
different methods of learning. We perceive information using our
senses. The three most practical senses in learning environments are

learning styles.
While most people have a dominant learning style, nobody has just one
learning style. Everyone uses each of the learning styles to some
