She has graduate degrees from Michigan State University in Public Administration
and Human Ecology and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from
the University of Michigan. She has taught courses in business administration, human
ecology, and nonprofit management and leadership, most recently at the Indiana
University Center on Philanthropy and School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
She is an excellent instructor, often described as their “best teacher” by her students
and is passionate about working with non-traditional students with limited access to
higher education.
Jill is a high-energy innovator and has developed agencies and programs, has
drafted legislation, and developed award winning public service campaigns. As a
consultant, she is regularly sought out by clients who value her integrity, ethics, skills
and responsiveness. She is an outstanding speaker and trainer and excels in motivat-
ing and mentoring others. She was recently profiled in the book, The Courage Code,
for her financial stewardship philosophy.
She is married to the Reverend Robert Schoenhals, a United Methodist minister who
has served congregations in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Canada and is the
mother of Alison Warren, a graduate of Earlham College and graduate student at
Sotheby's Institute of Fine Art in London.
