Linksys PAP2 Web Interface


To access the Linksys web interface, the IP address must be
obtained first. The device needs to be connected to the network and
powered up.

Lift the handset and perform the following tasks to obtain the IP
Address;
Enter ****
Enter 110# when prompted
The ATA device will read the IP Address back to you.
Write down the IP address

From the internet browser address window, type in the IP address.

A window will pop up asking for the user name and password. Enter
in “user” as the user name.

To obtain the password, go to the Subscriber Maintenance on the


Subscriber tab of CMS.

Open up the Closed Activation Order on the Subscriber’s account.

Type in the “Unit Password” in the Password field of the window.

Click on the “Admin Log In” link in the upper right corner of the
Linksys page.

A new window will open asking for the user name and password
again. This time enter in “admin” as the user name.

Type in the “Admin Password” from CMS in the pop up window on


the Linksys page.

Click on the “Advance View” link to toggle to the page.

Verify that all the settings are set correctly on the “Info” page.

Go to the “System” link on the top of the menu bar.

Verify the settings under the “Optional Network Configuration” section


for the “Secondary DNS,” the “DNS Server Order,” the “Syslog
Server,” and the “Primary and Secondary NTP Server.”

Next check the settings on the “SIP” page. The “RTP Packet Size”
should be set to 0.020

Access the “Provisioning” link from the heading menu bar. Verify
that the “Profile Rule” in the “Configuration Profile” and the
“Upgrade Rule” in the “Firmware Upgrade” are set as listed below.

The “Region” settings are the next tab to view.

Scroll down to the “Vertical Service Activation Codes.” The “Blind


Transfer Code” needs to be set at “44”.

Keep the following code fields blank.


“Call Return Code,” “Call Back Act Code,” “Call Back
Deact Code,” “Cfwd All Act Code,” “Cfwd All Deact
Code,” “Cfwd Busy Act Code,” “Cfwd Busy Deact
Code,” “Cfwd No Ans Act Code,” “Cfwd No Ans
Deact Code,”

From the “Advanced View” page click on “Line 1” in the heading.

To verify that the settings on the device are correct, first check
“Proxy and Registration” then the “Subscriber Information” section.
And finally scroll down to the “Audio Configuration” section.

In the “Proxy & Registration” section verify that “Proxy” is set to the
Partner’s Domain.
The “Outbound Proxy” always needs to be set at “nv-
obproxy.commpartners.us” although; the state’s initials can
change to represent the state that the Partner is in.

Verify that the “User ID” is correct in the “Subscriber Information”


section.

Under “Audio Configuration” Check the setting of the “Preferred


Codec.” The normal value is “G729a.”
Under the “Use Pref Codec Only” setting should be set at “No.”

Adjusting the Codec to Allow for Fax


To allow for fax, remain on the “Line 1” page. Scroll down to the
“Audio Configuration” section. Change the “Preferred Codec”
setting to “G711u.”
Under the “Use Pref Codec Only” switch the setting to “Yes.”

The “Fax Passthru Method” also needs to be changed to “Re


Invite.”

Click the “Save Settings” button.

Manually Provisioning
To manually provision the Linksys ATA PAP2, connect the ATA to
power, the network and a telephone set. (As shown on page 2)

To access the Linksys web interface, the IP address must be


obtained first.

Lift the handset and perform the following tasks to obtain the IP
Address;
Enter ****
Enter 110# when prompted
The ATA device will read the IP Address back to you.
Write down the IP address

From the internet browser address window, type in the IP address.

The Linksys web portal for that device will open. Click on the “Admin
Login” link.

Click on the “Switch to Advanced View” link.

From the “Provisioning” tab on the top menu bar, under the
“Configuration Profile” to enter in the “Profile Rule.”

Scroll down to the “Firmware Upgrade” section and enter the


“Upgrade Rule.”

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Save
Settings” button.

A confirmation message will appear before being redirected back to


the configuration page.

To complete the provisioning process, power the device off. Return to


the Subscriber’s account in CMS. Finish the “Shipping Order” and
complete the “Activation Order” as usual.

Factory Resetting the Linksys PAP2 Device


To factory reset the Linksys ATA PAP2, connect the ATA to power,
the network and a telephone set. (As shown on page 2) Using the
keypad on the telephone set complete the following process:

Enter in: ****


Enter in: 73738#
Select: 1 to confirm

The ATA’s lights will change from blue to red.
