Our Trip to USC
Have you ever visited or gone to USC?
Well, I have. I went to USC on a field
trip. It is big and nice. It has dormito-
ries for kids that sleep there. I think
they could decorate their room because I
saw a disco ball from the window. It
was a really nice experience going to
USC because we got to see a lot of flags
that represent the international stu-
dents.

When I went to USC I felt like a Trojan.
When I went I saw all these buildings
that my teacher told me about. I saw
the championship trophies inside the
building. We went around the campus
and saw lots of Trojans studying, going
to classes, and riding their bikes. I liked
when we went inside buildings to see

Why do students continuously tag all
over school campus? It’s a waste of time
because nobody’s really going to pay any
attention to it. Instead of scribbling on
our school and making it look trashy,
help clean up our school. Make it look
good and clean. Do not waste time tag-
ging invest that time in learning. Why
waste time on a little tag when it just
going to get painted over or cleaned off?
The difference between a taggers wage
and nurse’s wage is completely different.

When we came in to USC it was like a
city because people were on bicycles,
skateboards, or walking. Usually in
school you can’t be on many of those
things. USC has a pharmacy in the uni-
versity and it has a nice lunch area. We
went to one of the buildings and we saw
people using iPads, laptops, and phones,
maybe working on their assignments.
What is so special about USC? Well, if
you are in USC and you have an idea or
want to start your own organization, they
give you a small office and they give you
a budget for your organization.

What would some of you students rather
do, spend 6 months in jail because you
did something stupid like tag, or would
you rather sit in a nice class room and
learn because you decided to make the

in that situation? Every day we the deci-
sion to do something right. So why don’t
some of you students that tag, say you
know what I’m better than this. I don’t
need to write on this wall I need to keep

When I heard that we were going to
take a field trip to USC, I was excited!
When we went to USC we had to wait
awhile for the other kids to come. We
waited in a park and bought ice cream
and other things. Then we went to the
school. We saw a lot of kids leaving and
going inside buildings. We also saw
flags of people who came to USC. Then
we saw trophies and pictures, and we
also got posters of when the games are
going to happen. Next, we ate our
lunch. Afterward we went through
some other schools in USC. Finally, we
were getting ready to leave USC. When
we had returned to school, everyone
kept talking about what we had seen at
USC.

People who tag don’t really get any-
where in life. They either end up in jail
or prison. Sometimes they even end up
dead. Most of all they end up with no
family. All that time that spent tagging
and in jail they could have been with
their mom and dad. They could have
been looking for a wife, building a family
on their own. They could have gotten a
real job not out on the streets all the
time. The whole point is don’t tag and
make good choices.

Grade Level Focus: 561 Is Ho Hum, We Need 607 in 2011!
It’s that time again; The CST is coming!
This is the most important test that all
students need to take every year. The
test will cover everything you learned in
classes. Its result will be used to evalu-
ate the students as well as the school
performance. The score is also used for
next year placement For example, if
student does not score well on the test,
he/she will be placed in the Reading
class, while others will take fun elec-
tives. Therefore, all students need to
study hard and try their best while tak-
ing the test.
Weird Stories
Have you ever taken the time to hear or
see things that are shocking weird sto-
ries? Well if you don’t have the time I
have done it for you! When you read
these stories I am sure that you will
want to know where to look for this in-
teresting news.
12 Million Bees escape in a California
Crash
This incident happened near Sacra-
mento when a truck flipped over on
highway 55. This truck carried 400 bee-
hives which contained approximately
30,000 each. Luckily, only 12,000 bees
were able to escape. These bees stung
cops, firefighters, and tow truck drivers.
“People were being stung left and right,”
recalls an officer who was at the crash
scene. This happened near Sacramento
and the bees covered part of highway
99. It took seven hours to calm the an-
gry bees with smoke. Beekeepers that
were passing the scene drove up and

In addition to the games, Mr. Ramos
also comes to the classes frequently and
quizzes students on essential Math and
English skills. He hands out Cougar
Bucks when students have the right
help with the process of recapturing the
bees. Officers still cannot find out the
cause of the truck flipping over when
entering the highway although officers
believe the truck driver was going too
fast. Officers temporarily closed the high-
way. When it was cleared there were still
bees unaccounted for, but an officer says,
“No news is good news,” after not receiv-
ing any calls from mad drivers.
Vampire Bats
Have you ever heard about a bat that
drinks blood? If you have do you believe
that it exist? If you didn’t believe that
they existed then you have to think again
because they do exist and they do drink
blood, it is usually that of pigs, birds,
cattle, horses, and maybe once or twice
that of a sleeping human. These crea-
tures depend on a few tablespoons of
blood and if they don’t get that blood for a
few days they will starve to death. You
can only find these creatures in central

answers. All students will have a pizza
party before the school year ends. Track
C had their pizza party on Tuesday 5/3.
I am sure that you will do as well as
them on the test, and track A and B will
have it in June.
Remember: study hard, sleep well, have
a good breakfast, and come to school on
time for the test. Carver’ score is at
561 now, we need to raise it to 607
on this coming test.

The Man with No Face
Have you ever seen or heard of the man
with no face? Well I have and I decided
to write about him because he is an ex-
ample of if you want something and you
can do it what is important is what is
inside not outside!!!
A man named Jose was born with a
strawberry colored birthmark on his
upper lip, but when he began to go thru
puberty it began to expand and after a
while it covered his lips nose and one of
his eyes. Now after 35 years of its con-
tinuing growth it is 33cm long and
weighs 3kg even though it is continuing
to grow. This tumor on 51 year old Jose

because of medical misinformation,
some misdiagnosis, lack of finances, and
his unwanting to go thru treatment be-
cause of religious beliefs the tumor has
been allowed to cover almost completely
his face.
